Maintaining good ethics is essential in every profession, as it involves a demonstration of
respect for critical moral principles, which include honesty, integrity, fairness, and dignity.
Integrity is at the core of any society and organization to work effectively(McHaney, Cronan
& Douglas, 2019). Good ethical practice ensures overall positive growth and development; it
also aids the individual in maintaining an honest image, refraining from the activities which
may discredit to their profession. Professionalism is also required in scholarly ethics as it
helps to keep away the influence of publicity and marketing, deception, and intellectual
dishonesty such as plagiarism. An excellent professional knowledge restricts the editor to use

essay. A student nurse who shows completeness in their work will have a better job
opportunity and job reliability(Bultas, 2017). It helps them to reason morally and ethically
practices nursing. The instructor and mentor need to make them aware of the ethical and
moral issues that are associated with nursing and guide them to provide ethically and morally
acceptable health care to patients. The student must communicate with their supervisors or
instructor regarding the assignment details, procedures, referencing style, and clarify any
issue regarding the task. This will lower the chance of errors. The student can take the help of
software and tools such as Grammarly, SafeAssign, and Paraphrasing, which helps in the
detection and removal of plagiarism, along with the correction of grammatical mistakes and
vocabulary. Grammarly also suggests feedbacks and suggestions, which help the student to

excel in their careers and provide efficient patient care.
(2) Maintaining integrity as a professional nurse
As a healthcare professional, maintaining integrity in their work is the primary and
elementary responsibility of a nurse. Integrity is essesntial in promoting trust between the
health care provider and the public. A nurse needs to be honest and fair in their profession.
They are the ones who will be responsible for taking care of patients, so being commited to
their duties will help them in delivering effective patient care. Moreover, maintaining proper
integrity in their profession will ensure better patient satisfaction and the success of the
healthcare organization. Nurses must be mindful of the professional codes and standards of
nursing practice and follow the guidelines strictly. The nurses must show empathy and
compassion while treating for a patient, give them respect, and value their opinions. They
should stay non-judgemental and listen carefully to the requirements of the patients. This
helps in earning the trust and respect of the patients and make them believe that they are in
safe hands.
(3) Approaches for maintaining academic integrity
It is also crucial for professional nurses to maintain integrity. For that, the nurse needs to keep
an integrated self, being consistent with views and actions. The nurses need to create a
personal identity and have an explicit knowledge about morality(Devine & Chin, 2018). They
should build up a therapeutic relationship with them and provide treatment in a holistic
approach which satisfies the patient’s needs. A professional nurse should have a sense of
responsibility and accountability in their work which improves self discipline. They should
take care of patients, monitor their vital signs, perform regular check-up and evaluation as
well as prescribe medications to them. They should be honest and true to their beliefs while

and dignity for the co-workers, patients and their families. Their primary concern shoud be

patients before going for any treatment procedure and let the patient to decide what he wants.
Apart from this, they should also promote, advocate for and protect the rights of the patient
alongwith ensuring their safety and security.
