Section 1
Academic is a commitment to demonstrate honest and moral behavior in academic settings. It
is usually required at the university level where it is expected that the individual will do their
task by taking support from the works done by others and create something original from it.
However, it is also crucial in academic writing to maintain academic integrity by
acknowledging the ideas and practices of others, which will help in upholding the standard of
the Institute.
Maintaining good ethics is essential in every profession, as it involves a demonstration of
respect for critical moral principles, which include honesty, integrity, fairness, and dignity.
Integrity is at the core of any society and organization to work effectively(McHaney, Cronan
& Douglas, 2019). Good ethical practice ensures overall positive growth and development; it
also aids the individual in maintaining an honest image, refraining from the activities which
may discredit to their profession. Professionalism is also required in scholarly ethics as it
helps to keep away the influence of publicity and marketing, deception, and intellectual
dishonesty such as plagiarism. An excellent professional knowledge restricts the editor to use
scholarly ethics as a platform of advocacy, and should only be committed to serving the
knowledge of the people and only be used for academic purpose.
Grammarly is a third party, automated grammar, vocabulary, proofreading, and writing
revision tool, which is very helpful in academic writing. Grammarly not only fixes writing
but also provides suggestions and feedback when appropriate(Sousa-Silva, 2017). The most
crucial feature of Grammarly is that it can detect plagiarism. It also helps in citation and
referencing. SafeAssign is another plagiarism checker tool that allows the instructor to detect
plagiarism by comparing the submitted assignments against a set of academic

papers(Jamieson & Howard, 2019). To save their task from getting plagiarized, the students
provide a draft within the SafeAssign tool. Paraphrasing helps the students to void or remove
plagiarism. The student instead od directly copying from a source, incorporate ideas or
information from another source, thus maintaining the integrity of academic writing.
Section 2
(1) Maintaining integrity as a student of the MSN program
Maintaining integrity and honesty in their work is essential for every student. For ensuring
integrity, they must plan about what they are doing to write because procrastination and time
constraints often provoke them to choose the path of dishonesty(Cronan, Mullins, & Douglas,
2018). They should make smart decisions like doing their work diligently or writing their
essay. A student nurse who shows completeness in their work will have a better job
opportunity and job reliability(Bultas, 2017). It helps them to reason morally and ethically
practices nursing. The instructor and mentor need to make them aware of the ethical and
moral issues that are associated with nursing and guide them to provide ethically and morally
acceptable health care to patients. The student must communicate with their supervisors or
instructor regarding the assignment details, procedures, referencing style, and clarify any
issue regarding the task. This will lower the chance of errors. The student can take the help of
software and tools such as Grammarly, SafeAssign, and Paraphrasing, which helps in the
detection and removal of plagiarism, along with the correction of grammatical mistakes and
vocabulary. Grammarly also suggests feedbacks and suggestions, which help the student to

They are the ones who will be responsible for taking care of patients, so being commited to
their duties will help them in delivering effective patient care. Moreover, maintaining proper
integrity in their profession will ensure better patient satisfaction and the success of the
healthcare organization. Nurses must be mindful of the professional codes and standards of
nursing practice and follow the guidelines strictly. The nurses must show empathy and
compassion while treating for a patient, give them respect, and value their opinions. They
should stay non-judgemental and listen carefully to the requirements of the patients. This

safe hands.
(3) Approaches for maintaining academic integrity
It is also crucial for professional nurses to maintain integrity. For that, the nurse needs to keep
an integrated self, being consistent with views and actions. The nurses need to create a
personal identity and have an explicit knowledge about morality(Devine & Chin, 2018). They
should build up a therapeutic relationship with them and provide treatment in a holistic
approach which satisfies the patient’s needs. A professional nurse should have a sense of
responsibility and accountability in their work which improves self discipline. They should
take care of patients, monitor their vital signs, perform regular check-up and evaluation as
well as prescribe medications to them. They should be honest and true to their beliefs while
