This report, focused on Tourism and Heritage Management, evaluates the different interactive approaches used for heritage interpretation at three UK museums: the Museum of London, the Science Museum, and Tate Modern. INTRODUCTION
The term heritage and tourism plays the crucial role for any of the country because it help
to uplift the standard of living and economic of the nation. Whenever any of the country form the
heritage site then there is higher possibility that goals can be accomplished easily. Moreover,
management which is supported on territorial planning and policies enable nation to enlarge its
overall market share or size in an impressive manner. In addition to this, maintenance of museum
help specified heritage and tourism to improve the living standard of community or society in an
improved and amended way. Tourism is widely recognized for its tangible outcomes (job
creation, tax revenues) as well as its less tangible outcomes (quality of life). It may be built upon
a wide variety of attractions, including agritourism, arts tourism, cultural and heritage tourism,
destination tourism, fairs, events and conferences, sports teams, recreation, and more. It is
necessary to understand that heritage and tourism are interrelate because where there are
museum, there is high possibility that tourist can come in higher number (Barthel-Bouchier,
2016). The heritage tourism is defined as the branch of tourism that is oriented towards cultural
heritage of the location where tourism occurs. In context of the file, there will be discussion
about three different museum which are located within the premisses UK and what are the
technologies which they are using for making them understand that how tourist are being guided
within the museum.
ASSESSMENT – 2 : Report
Evaluate the different interactive approaches through which heritage was interpreted at each of
the sites visited.
Heritage interpretation can be explained as the process which are being used in any of the
specific area to do communication in a systematic manner. It is mainly helpful in the place where
people from different place visits on a regular basis for the purpose of understand about the
culture, believes and different types of past history in detail. It is also understood as a organised
approach where people are required to make understand about the place whenever take a visit to
that respective place for the purpose of learning something new as a personal interest. Here,
whenever any of the person is able to provide the information in a systamatice manner then it
will be easy for the visitor understand about the place in easiest manner. Also, it will allow to do
communication more fluently between the one who is guiding and the one who is interested in

learning something new as as personal interest. This approaches are mainly used in the area
where tourist visits in maximum number. This will directly help to improve the economic
condition of a country but it is necessary to ensure that each and every information which are
being provided to tourist are relevant and helpful at the of attaining the goals. It is necessary to
understand that if heritage sites will be able to reflect all of information as per their requirement
then their will be more chances that more number of visitors will be attracted towards the sites
just for the purpose of collecting new information about the respective place. In context of this
respective project, three different Museum will be reflected in this file and they will be Science
Museum, Museum of London and Tate Modern. All of this museum uses different technologies
for the purpose of making the visitor to understand that how can collect all of the relevant
information about the museum (Biehl, and et. al., 2015). All of this locations have its own
importance where people will have the option to learn something new every they visit to that
respective place. Three are three different types of approaches which can be used for the purpose
of understand each and every information in detail. The three different types of approaches are
Human Based Approach, Technical based approach, Hybrid approach. Below, there is the detail
description about all of this heritage and the approaches which they use for making visitor to
understand about the place in detail.
Human Based Approach: It is one of the approached in which involvement of human
being can be found easily. Their are number of visitor who like to understand about the past
information with the help of human being because they can help them to sort out any of the
queries or question which arises within the mind of human being. While talking about the
museum of London every day number of visitors visit the place just for the purpose of
collecting different information about the museum. Here, museum uses the human approach
whenever they want to collect any of the information about the particular place. Visitors
themselves prefer human approach for finding some new information about the place. It is never
easy task to make people understand but in this respective museum human approach has been
very effective (Cannas, 2016Chami, 2018). The employees who have been hired in this
respective museum are well educated and even they are from the background of history. It
makes an easy task the employees who are working as a guider in the museum are well skilled in
the field of communication due to which it becomes an easy task for everyone to understand
about every single information about that respective place.

In addition, whenever any of the visitors are able to learn some thing new when they visit
to any of the new place then it becomes easy for them to advise other tourist to visit that
respective place so that they will be able to learn something new about that respective place. It is
said that whenever any of the person uses the approach of human then they will get the option to
learn differ new things which are beneficial for them because human being who are present and
have the knowledge about the museum will be able to sort any of the problem which visitors
face at the time of visiting to the museum (Cheer, and Lew, eds., 2017). Also, there are number
of visitors who have the concept that if technologies are being used to make people clear about
the place then they might new sort out the queries which they are having while having a visit to
the museum. According to this approach, this is related to the aspect of interpreting of specific
monument or artefacts which are carried out by the help of humans. Individuals present in
museum provide effective and deep knowledge regarding the history of museum. This provides
accurate information and proper guidance and direction to travellers.
Technical based approach: According to this approach, there is link between aspect in
which heritage communication is involved. This takes place by utilising digital or advanced
technology. Such innovative techniques and tools are useful for exploring the knowledge or
information of each and every individual (Nagaoka, 2015). This includes information regarding
each and every person. Such innovative tools are very useful. These helps in motivating
customers and client's interests. In context of science museum, this is a museum which is
devoted to science. The older older science museum tend to concentrate on static displays of
objects that are related to palaeontology, natural history and industry. The modern trends in
museum have widened according to the range of subject matter and it has introduced many
interactive exhibits. The science museums vary but they are commonly including places which
science access and encourage the excitement of discovery (Dormaels, 2016). In the early stages
of Renaissance, there are many aristocrats who collect curiosities for displaying their families. In
these museums, schools and universities keep the collected specimens for study of students.
Collectors and scientists displayed their finds in private cabinets of curiosities (Hasbollah,
2015). These collections are predecessors of the modern natural history museum.
The Tate modern museum is a modern gallery that is situated in London. This is
Britain's national gallery of international modern art and forms part of the Tate group. This is
based on the former Bank side Power station. Tate holds the national collection of British art

from the 1900's (Poulios, 2014). There is no admission charge for accessing to the collection

of the gallery space.
Hybrid approach: According to this approach, it is concluded that there are both kind
of approaches which are used for providing tour for travellers. This is done by using both
technological and human based approach. According to this approach, the tourists and students
are given information about the museum by using tablets, earphones, stories, an human guide, etc
(Dragouni, and Fouseki, 2018). This is a most effective way for providing information regarding
the museum to people that visits this place for enhancing knowledge. Organisations of the
museum are generally clear and good. All these collections are placed according to the years that
they belong. After the entertainment of museum, visitors and students are allowed for getting
into adventure of history and this is placed for lands starting form the the Slavic medieval states
until the need of the first world war. Historical periods are displayed by using events. The
gallery team of Tate modern helps in getting the most out of the visit. This includes planning of
day to share stories. There is free entry and events are charged in a separate manner. Visitors
with disability have to pay a disability pay of concessionary rate (Fernandez, 2015). There is a
security which is high and this safety approach is important for increasing the level of
satisfaction among customers and clients. In context of this museum, it is seen that information
desk is located near the river of level 1. There are various facilities provided to customers in this
museum. There is involvement of both human approach and technological approach in this
museum. There are a various kind of movies made for providing information regarding the
museum information (Getz, and et,al ., 2014). After this, a guide or individual is there for
illustrating information in effective manner. In this way, it is important for the management of
museum to provide effective knowledge to customers and students.
CONCLUSION
It has been summarised from the above explained report that in this present time of global
changes, culture is regarded as one of the important pillar of sustainability, intercultural
understanding over nation's economy enhancement. However, cultural heritage and its
knowledge is regarded as one of the main element that drive country's towards enriching its
socio- economic and cultural development.
