Analysis of the current issue
The intercultural challenges at the present have been understood very threatening and
challenging as with this the efficient and smooth functioning of the work is not able to get
performed in the systematic an appropriate required manner (Spencer-Oatey, et. al., 2012). In the
present time, the challenges have been understood to be most commonly found is in the
differences in cultural values and etiquette. There are several challenges and issues that are
taking place are affecting the operations of Backpack bed for the homeless organisation. As the
help for tsunami-affected people are been planned and the required things were planned to be
availed to the places (Van Dyne, et. al., 2012). The major issues and challenges that are coming
on up the way are the differences in the cultural values and etiquettes. It has been determined that
the cultural differences are making a problematic situation for the people of the organisation as
they are belonging to Melbourne which is having a different culture from Sulawesi and other
places which were affected recently by Tsunami (Wachinger, et. al., 2013). The two situations
come up when the team reaches the destination for aid. The faced challenges during the process
of making reach the things required to the people affected with Tsunami are as below-
Intercultural challenge(difficulties in understanding etiquette)
According to Samovar, et. al. (2014), the challenges are different that come across the people
when dealing or getting interacted with the different natured person. It is been understood that
the etiquettes and living culture of the places are having a great impact on the learning and
understanding of the people. The viewpoint of Bargiela-Chiappini & Nickerson (2014), the most
challenging situation for the people now days are the lack in the knowledge about the way other
is behaving and the learning and values the other is having. The people are having a number of
issues and challenges and this is ultimately resulting in poor outcomes and the negative impact.
This is very important for the management of the firm to know the necessary outcomes of the
certain situation that will face by the company.
As asserted by Carbaugh (2013), it is very difficult for one person of a different culture to easily
understand the etiquettes and values that is been followed in another country and culture. This
will always create a situation of conflict among the people. Gibb & Good (2014), states that

people will not be able to know about the adverse state and the problems will get an increase. In

cultural values and etiquettes.
As asserted by Ting‐Toomey (2017), the people in the company may misunderstand the
situations and the messages that are been availed to them and this will result in un-required
outcomes and results. The ultimate result will be negative for the business and the sustainability
of the firm will get influenced highly. The operations and activities and the aims that are been
set by the company will also be not able to get meet in an effective manner. In the viewpoint of

severe and critical condition of the firm as the efforts and hardship of the employees will not be
able to get attain in an effective manner. As asserted by MacDonald, et. al. (2013), The
perception and interpretation of the situation play an essential role which is needed to be
