The type of business communication selected by the facilitator is the internal, upward
communication. This type of the business communication is something that comes from the
juniors or the subordinates to managers or a person up the hierarchy of organization. The leaders
are required the information to flow upside to have a real pulse on the operations of the
organization. These communications are generally in the systematic forms as the communication
is going to be from the subordinates to their managers and bosses so the formal mode of
communication is going to be used. These upward communications are based on the reports,
surveys, systematic forms, templates as well as the other resources in order to assist the
employees and provide the required as well as the complete information (Geertshuis, et. al.,
2015).
The characteristics of the internal upward communication are that it is being used as the part of
the whistle blowing policy within the large companies. In such policy, each and every employee
is permitted to make the communication directly with the top management regarding matters
required for the examination on the caution angle. This is also considered as the fraud prevention
tools used within the organizations. This is a helpful method of communication as it helps the
managers to know about what the employees are feeling about their job roles and the policies and
procedures of the organizations. It also consists of the methods like the feedback from the
employees (Verghese, 2017).
For an example, the sales report might be including the total numbers of the pitches including the
actual sales. There may be also asked for the feedbacks such as the short summary regarding the
problems as well as successes that would be tracked by the management. This type of
communication can be seen in different organizations in order to make the interaction between
the managers as well as the subordinates.
