Climate change has become one of the critical elements to discuss in the current world.
According to the article, there is a need for sustainable societal elements to respond to the
impacts of climate change. The point is that climate change needs international response, and it
is now the best time for the MNEs to come up with appropriate measures. Some of the concepts I
have learned from the paper have been presented systematically, as shown below.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned from the reading, and why?
Through the entire content, I have learned a lot concerning the issue between climate change and
the MNES. The literature review section has elaborated on the essential drivers that are
accelerating the aspect of climate change and how the MNEs principles could respond to this.
According to Lei et al (2017 p.34) the climate change will impact the whole economy if not well
handled. Through this aspect, I have learned that it is the best time for the MNEs strategies to
start employing the appropriate concepts. These concepts will induce changes in the political,
social, and economic environment, thus creating a viable economy (Amusan, 2018 p.120).
On the other hand, Osabuohien et al (2015 p.31) argued that most of the organizations and
investors are aware of the climate change, but they are yet to incorporate measures to combat the
change. Through this analogy, I have learned that there are those internal barriers that are
deterring investors from coming up with strategies that will aid in reducing climate change in the
economy. Besides, Alkaff,et al (2016 p.398), has mentioned on some of the fundamental
approaches that will help MNEs to realize the barriers to handle climate change. From this work,
it has become to my senses that business stakeholders could comply with aspects such as
national, sectoral, organizational, and transactional approaches that can aid in reducing climate
change in the economy. The author supported that all these frameworks can be applied to all

organizations, not excluding the mitigating levels, the political frameworks, and the adaptation
concepts (Ivanaj et al 2017 p.11).
What part of the reading have you found most challenging to understand, or to agree with, and
why?
The literature review in the article had some complicated parts. It was a challenge to comprehend
how some of the articles used tried to incorporate the idea of climate change and the issue of
MNEs. In section 3.7 of the literature review, I have not understood how the article was relevant
to the subject matter. The section reveals a study carried out in China but does not give a clear
explanation of how the issue of MNEs and climate change relates. I was also unable to point how
out how the research work carried out in China supported issues such as barriers to climate
change in businesses.
What IBS theoretical framework has this article helped you to understand?
The article has helped me to understand both global and transnational International Business
Strategy. The idea is that the article has analysed climate change as a disaster for international
corporations. Also, the content calls upon the MNEs strategies to support critical factors that will
reduce the threat of climate change to the economy de (Abreu et al 2017 p.23). These objectives
of the article relate to the principles outlined in both global and transnational frameworks.
How relevant does your article to MNEs highlight the issues?
As indicated in the introduction part of the article, climate change has become a critical element
in the economy. The issue is that the article has discussed how the MNEs has to come up with
solutions to reduce threats of climate change. The barriers advocated in the paper are relevant to
the principle of the MNEs. On the other hand, the implication part of the study is relevant to the

MNEs. The point is that the section has summarised how the practices to reduce climate change
can be supported by the use of MNEs in the economy. Besides, the call upon strategies in part 7
of the article reveals some approaches used by the MNEs to combat pandemic issues facing the
field of business.
If the author (s) were present, what question would you ask them?
From the content revealed by the article, I have three questions. The first question that I could
have asked is are there MNEs roles that have been in use to deal with environmental threats
facing the business. Secondly, is the MNEs aware of those practices facilitating climate change?
Lastly, how is the MNEs preparing to mobilize business stakeholders on threats we receiving
from climate change?
In conclusion, climate change reduces the growth rate of the economy. It is the mandate of the
MNEs to induce measures that will cut off these threats and barriers to climate change in the
economy.
