3 Project Definition
3.1 Background
The project focuses on international expansion of food and drink delivery business
in a restaurant of UK. The restaurant utilizes telephonic ordering system and they do not
have an e-commerce website and as a result the business of the restaurant was limited
only to a small region of area in Australia. The restaurant wants to expand its food and
drink delivery business to an international market and therefore they wants to develop e-
commerce website so that they can promote their food as well as provides online food
delivery facility to the people. This will be quite advantageous for the expansion of the
food and drink delivery business.
3.2 Project objectives and desired outcomes
The objectives of the project are as follows:
 To expand the food and drink delivery business in the international market
 To develop e-commerce website for providing home delivery of food and drink
 To enhance the revenue streams with the help of omni channel sales.
3.3 Project scope and exclusions
The scope of the project is mainly categorized into in-scope and out scope.
In-scope: The in-scope of the project includes:
 Expansion of food and delivery business
 Development of e-commerce website
 Providing the facility of home delivery system
 Enhancing revenue streams
 Utilization of Omni-sales channels
Out-scope: The project out-scope includes:
 Mobile friendly ordering system will not be developed
 New branches of the restaurant is not developed
 The details of the suppliers of food and drink are not analyzed
3.4 Constraints and assumptions
The constraints of the project are as follows:
Scope: The scope of the project is considered as a functional element that helps
in making up the end deliverable of the project. The scope of the project must be
achieved by the project manager in order get inherent quality upon completion or
execution of the entire project.
Budget: The estimated budget of the project is around $600,000 and the project
manager must be able to complete the entire project within this budget. If the project is
not completed within the time that is estimated then it will create number of financial
problems.
Time: This mainly helps in highlighting the actual time that is needed for
completing the project. It is identified that the total time that is required for international
expansion of food and drink delivery is around 60 days. The project must be completed
within the time period that is estimated otherwise it will create number of issues.

the business can face too. The disadvantages or risks associated with the project include
security issues, misuse of personal data, improper delivery of food items, inadequate
quality of food and more. All this problems or risks must be managed properly for
expanding the business of online delivery of food and drinks in the international market.
