Self Reflection
Being a student of International Business, it is immensely important for me to
understand different concepts of business. We all reside in a world where the economic
activities are global in scale. The whole world is connected through internet, where several
businessmen conduct their business practices, internationally. By studying International
Business, I understood the concepts of modern day’s business world. This module has helped
me in learning several aspects of International Business and procedures, which must be taken
while doing business internationally. The course is not as simple as it might sound. This
course has more into it and has given me an idea on various elements considered while doing
an international business. It helped me in becoming fully equipped with the business ideas
required for doing business on the international platform and moreover, it gave me some
ideas regarding career development and the challenging environment of the business world.
The module throws light on the overall business and marketing tactics used by various
organizations, which made me more confident regarding my future goals.
The module highlights, according to me, were the cultural dimensions of various
nations, consumer perceptions, marketing tactics and also consumer feedbacks. I have learnt
about various modes of businesses, hiring and selection procedures and many more. In fact, I
came to know about several models which are being developed by various scholars,
researchers and sociologists. I have gained an understanding regarding various elements and
theories of culture and the way it influences the business in a particular economy. This has
enriched me in a huge way and presently, I am aware of all the cultural elements that exist
within the International Business environment. In addition to this, I am able to identify the
typical characteristics of various cultures in different nations. This will help me a lot in the
upcoming future, as I will be able to establish my business career on the international

platform. Moreover, I can work with overseas clients and also in the organizations which
promotes diversity.
In the upcoming years, I will be able to focus on how the organizations operate, their
management styles, business strategies and what they specifically do. Moreover, there are
various opportunities in this field and a wide range of courses. Some of the courses are more
inclined towards retail and commerce. Some even focuses on the international or tourism
businesses. Therefore, I can establish my career in any of these fields as the common threads
are finance, human resource management, business and marketing. Studying business and
management have enabled me in gaining an understanding over marketing, finance,
operations, managing people, information systems, policies, data and strategies. The courses
also explore and examine the ethical implications of the business operations. In addition to
this, studying marketing has helped me in developing an understanding of the marketing
needs as well as consumer demands and behaviors. Furthermore, it will build on my ability of
understanding the business statistics, digital marketing and language utilized in campaigns as
well as improving client satisfaction.
