Wettstein et al. (2019) in their research article highlighted the discussion related to
the business responsibilities for the human rights. The article is the explanation of the
thriving rate of human rights which are surprisingly, although and predominantly outside the
area of the International Business. This particular article introduced by the authors of the
research explains the human rights and the business as the research are with some of the great
potential for the scholars of the International business.
The article highlights the recent scenario where the scholars tend to get engage with
some of the societal issues which are called the grand challenges in their research. The article
explain these grad challenges and the social and the environmental issues that intends to
transcend the national borders together with having negative impacts over larger numbers of
people, the communities and the collaborative efforts. The article furthermore highlighted
within the context of the human rights that one of the most authoritative frameworks that has
been operating in the current decade together with addressing the grand challenges is the
United Nations Sustainability Goals agenda which is the plan of the activity or the action that
promotes the sustainable development by the tackling of the wide range of the issue starting
from the gender equality to justice and peace.
The article highlights the fact that the area of the international business has much to
offer when it comes towards the better and fruitful understanding of the connection and the
relation among the human rights and the multinational enterprises. The concept of the human
rights and the business is the field illustrated by the authors in this research paper that can no
longer be ignored by the research of the international business in case of the forefront of the
scholarship in the issues related to the globalization that concerns the multinational
enterprises. The main of the article is to provide effective guidance to the scholars of the
International business who are interested towards the engagement in the business and the
human rights approach. This is furthermore followed by the tracing of the fundamental

Finally the authors of the article concluded that the past decades have been
characterized by some of the profound transformations in the global and the political level.
While the governments of the county were thought to be implementer of the human rights,
both in the positive and the negative ways, the rise and the increasing role of the public raised
query regarding the their own status of human rights. Within this contribution, the article
argued that the field of the international business not only has much for gain from the
stronger focus over the developments in the space of the business and the human rights but
also due to the body of the knowledge on multi national organization that tends to offer in the
business and the human rights field.
