to fulfilling of needs and wants of humans. Other than this, the report will illuminate divergent
matters that can occur while sustainable development and various theories so as to get over from
these (Rothstein, 2011). They seek to make the developmental goals and leads to economic
growth. British government has faced number of difficulties and problems.

There are various issues and challenges are faced by countries while sustaining
development; it is concern with global environmental problems like water, air and soil quality.
Environmental issues – Several environmental issues exists in whole world, such as-
the sustainability of tropical and coastal forests long term availability of fresh water, dilution of
ozone layer, emissions for climate change and pathetic management of natural resource, i.e.
agricultural and fishery. Along with this, in UK environmental situation is also a major concern,
Europeans uses more water rather than Canadians. In transformation agenda 2030, it is assumed
that billions of dollars will be exhausted in order to improve sewer systems and water supply.
However, British government has decided to eliminate water consumption by 50% so as to save
it for future generation. Apart from this, raising transportation could be a serious environmental
issue. In this modern era, vast number of vehicles increase air pollution which pollute the overall
environment; it can harm individual's health. As per the research it is analysed that Europeans
consume more energy as the cost of energy is low in UK rather than other nations. In different
forms, the environmental problems are facing by UK government while developing or improving
infrastructure as well as geopolitical boundaries. Although these obstacles are consists with
climate changes and protection of biodiversity, it is the subject matter of of international
agreements so as to overcome from all major issues. The certain environmental issues are -
health and education, sustainable agriculture, forests, cities and communities, water resources
and coastal areas.
Political issues – Ineffective government and weak decisions leads to the generation of
unbalanced economic development. Strength of any country lies in increasing of political and
civil rights. To meet the objectives of political and institutional will, proper political cooperation
should be emphasized at all levels of government. Otherwise lack of coordination will lead to
poor community development and act a hindrance in economic growth. Inequalities should be
removed so that everyone should have equal voting rights and is capable to of taking their own
decisions. There is unevenness between urban and rural areas hence, proper attention should be
made to develop these economically unbalanced regions.
Social issues – Every business has its own social issues that are concern with values,
morales, believes and religion of people who are living here. Furthermore, social issues also
focuses on giving actual rights to all human beings as they can chose their life style according to
their opinions. Due to democracy, government has to provide government is accountable in front

of individuals. Beside this, social issues can be related with cultural heritage; it includes that
ancient properties, historical sites, archaeological and novel cultural features should be preserved
for future generations. But now these days most of the cultural sites are getting removed or
damaged due to the lack of government support (Klassen, 2012). It is essential for government
to use certain programmes or projects. Apart from this, in social areas like - policies to encourage
employment, poverty eradication strategies, social inclusion, actions to reach quality education
access to quality education, safe drinking water, basic healthcare etc. should be improved as
people can live healthy life. It can be done by integrating social perspectives into wider and
complex policy-making processes. With the assistance of job opportunities, people can live
good quality of life as then fulfil their all needs and wants in an effective manner. Over
consumptions of available resources also increases health issues among people.
Technological issues- It involves up-gradation of prevailing technologies. It is very
much necessary to modernize the latest technology for contributing in GDP of the economy and
also in employment generation. It focuses on solving the environmental issues and leads to the
efficient use of the natural resources. Developing of technology leads to better production
process and will also conclude in national income. Latest machines, equipments are introduced
in the organization to reduce the wastage of resources unnecessarily and reuse if it is left.
Shortage of funds is a major problem in fulfilment of IT projects in many countries.
As such issues are rapidly increasing over the country, therefore it is necessary for UK's
government to streamlined effective strategies and then applied them with severity. There is a
requirement of blending environmental institutions as they can work with other customs. It is the
duty of the government to achieve growth of the economy in sustainable manner without
destroying production streams (Aßländer, 2011). Attention should be made to increase the
scientific capacity and foster concrete relationships between local and national and local
governments. At the same time to solve the political barriers, strategies of the sustainable
development should be properly aligned and integrated. Efforts should be directed to address
various structural problems that results in environmental and developmental prospects especially
in climate and environmental change. Capacity building is also destined across the nation. Strong
policies should be involved in concrete development. All legal authorities must cooperate and
should work together in order to accomplish sustainable goals which are decided in
