Introductory evaluation
In this report, there is a detail explanation regarding the factors that support in opting a better
employment options for future and also help in selecting an appropriate job location.
Currently I am working as a guest service manager in Holiday Inn telford and now i have
decided to come back to UK in order to improve my skills as well as capabilities which
support in my career growth and availing better opportunities in future. The main reason
behind this decision is that i want to become a General Manager within well-known hotel
chain in UK. By working over my skills and capabilities I got a chance to work in a porch
and technologically advanced area, which further contribute toward developing a better
career path for me by improving my rendering services skills. My work area was quite
limited in the Telford which is a town in England as hospitality sectors are still growing their
and individual development was not possible to a certain extent. There is also lack of training
and other scope to improve learning which stopped my individual development as well. By
changing by job location, I am expecting personal development that help in improving my
skills, be able to get training and learn the usage of new technological devices that are helpful
in rendering quick and high quality services to the customers. I am eager to take new
responsibilities so that I become able to develop as an individual and able to earn more
money.
The main factors that are required for the development is flexibility and recognition along
with provisions like adequate remuneration which depicts fixed salary, share of sales
revenues, bonus and extra compensations. There must be availability of contractual job so
that their remains a feel of security at workplace that help in performing operations
effectively. In addition to this, the job tenure must have a pension scheme that also provide a
promise to secure future after retirement where I get money to fulfil my requirements to
livelihood. There must be positive relationships between employees and higher authorities so
that there is healthy working environment which support in developing my performances
further as an individual and can render services to the fullest to bring development to the
company. In my previous work experience, I have worked with many other individuals under
my governance, which made my work more productive and easier. In the hospitality sectors
teamwork and integrated workforce helps in achieving the goals and objectives

I think that three major factors that I would require in the mentioned future job. This would
be in the order of the following:
Topic 1: Remuneration- Since the working location would be United Kingdom; I
would prefer an industry standard basic remuneration from the management.
Additionally, since I would be the director of the hotel, I would expect share of the
sales revenue being generated by the hotel in a fiscal year. This share however would
be limited to the certain pre-defined percentage between me and the management of
the hotel. I also want pension schemes that help me in securing capital for my future
even after retirement from job. The pension schemes will support me getting the
recognition for my years of services with in company.
Topic 2: Job security and employee benefits- I would prefer to associate me in a
long term with an employer in the event that additional employment benefits are
provided to me by the higher management. Some of the preferred benefits would
include multiple allowances in the form of communication, transport and authority to
train and include develop certain staff that would be required due to expansion
policies (CIPD, 2009). This will also support me gaining job security which is very
crucial for me to work with proper dedication and also help me in getting additional
growth opportunity. Hence, job security is very crucial for personal job satisfaction
which support in increasing the productivity. I think that adherence to most of the
mentioned preference of the benefits would provide job security as this would
motivate me to perform better which would result in more quantum of customers for
the hotel. For example, in the event that I become the director of the Radisson Blue
Hotel in Bucharest, this would provide a great job security for me, as I would then be
working with a brand and not for a brand.
Topic 3: Flexibility and fair treatment- Modern hospitality industry is becoming
more concentrated on the statistical treatment of individuals and impact of policies in
the dynamic consumer market (Chell, 1993). I would expect from my employer to
adhere to international labour laws. Some of the characteristics that I would prefer in
the new Romania hotel would be the defining of the maximum working hours
including overtimes. In the segment of flexibility, I would expect the organization to
provide me gradually a free hand in the training and the modulation junior
management to project the hotel in as a preferred hospitality destination in Romania.

Topic 4: Good relationship: In my new job I am expecting that higher management
must share good relationship with employees so that there could be most positive
environment at workplace. This is because a healthy working environment helps me
in getting more motivated toward my work. I have been working in Holiday Inn in
Telford town of UK, where I was working in groups that supported me to perform my
operations much easier. This teamwork has supported me in making organisation
more integrated and much efficient, the same I expect from the present organisation,
where I am going to work for remaining getting communicative and integrated. The
communication support me in understanding the opinions as well as views of a person
that contribute toward effective teamwork and better workforce eventually developing
the services of the hospitality organisations (Hon and Lui, 2016).
Topic 5: Independence: I am expecting that new working environment must provide
independence to work as well as in term of taking decision so that I can perform
operations much quickly by handling all my work pressure. The would help me in
dealing with tough situations and being adaptable to unfavourable situations. It would
further support me in understanding the situations that make it easier to being
adoptable to various kinds of situations. The independence will help me in creating
new ideas implemented in the processes of the organisation to make the
functionalities more productive (Okumus and Köseoglu, 2019).
Conduct and Motivation
While studying about the motivational theory in my MBA program I came to know about
several factors that motivate an individual to work in a particular direction. By learning about
X and Y theory I came to know that employees belongs to two category such as pessimistic
and optimistic. The employees which find excuses to stay away from work are not able to
perform operations effectively and are pressurised or punished by management. On the other
side optimistic employees are one who work with more dedication and sincerely toward the
accomplishment of organisational goals and they get rewarded with benefits and more
growth opportunity. From this I have learned that by conducting my work effectively I
become able to gain more growth opportunities which is a main motivational factor behind
my effort toward work. This lessons is beneficial for both professional as well as personal
development of mine. In the professional sphere, I have learnt how to better conduct myself
in the workplace and interact with other staff members in order to accomplish my work in

more effective manner under their guidance. While working in Holiday INN Telford, I came
to know about manner in which I can perform my work effectively and lead teams in a better
manner. I also learnt that the management of an employee plays an important role trying to
motive their subordinates. I was very uplifted every time when my employers told me a
motivational speech and help me to increase my morale (Herzberg, 2017).
Team based learning
During my learning in classes I came to know about Tuckman theory of team work through
which I have learnt about several stages to which a team go through. This help me in
understanding several stages and manner in which it must deal to strengthen the dynamics of
a team. This supported me a lot in completing my project effectively that we get as a class
room activity, as with the help of team dynamic understanding I become able to manage my
work with team much effectively and I also learn several tricks to work with coordination.
These all learning and experience supported in me at workplace where I get assigned with a
team of ten employees who were appointed to look into various aspects of the hotel. Some
investigated the quality of the rooms, while others were responsible for the quality of food
that was present within organisation. Hence the experience I got through my study supported
me in managing the work of my employees effectively. Through this whole process I was
able to see how the effort of a collective few individual could bring in high profits (Namada,
2018).
Workplace rewards and professional development
Post discussions regarding the social constructivist theory, we were exposed to the idea of
workplace rewards and professional development. These discussions included the idea of
incentives and the multiple ways of acquiring incentives by an individual. Additionally, this
topic included the integration of the incentive, motivation and professional development of
an individual in the end. However, personally as I am more concerned with the increasing the
efficiency of the allotted task, the segment of incentive would not affect my personal thought
significantly. However, over the past few weeks post discussion in this topic, I understood
that incentive could be in cash or in kind. Hence, I would essentially work for acquiring the
executive MBA program that would be sponsored by my potential employer in Romania.
This would complement the professional development of me in terms of education.
Additionally, in the segment of finance, I understood that incentive could be earned while

doing the same job with increased efficiency, effectiveness and efficacy for the hospitality
industry as well as the hotel.
Need for staff welfare in the hospitality management
This lesson has been the most recent ones that explain the need of the welfare of the staff for
the effective running of a hotel business. The additional attributes associated with the module
includes the development of the employees through inclusion of multiple processes like
employee benefits, promotions, recognitions, awards and profit sharing of the hotel (Bello et
al., 2017). Relative to my current workplace in UK, I think that this lesson would majorly
impact my personal thoughts regarding staff welfare. This would be because in my current
workplace, there are too little staff welfare schemes. Additionally, I think in aspect of
personal thoughts regarding customer service and hospitality management, I think that I
would be able to understand the different aspect of staff improvement and welfare schemes
apart from the government schemes for all the citizens.
Post the initial discussion against the topic, I would prefer that my employer in Romania
provide me with extensive staff welfare schemes that the management think would be
beneficial to the senior staff. Additionally, I would expect the owners and the higher manager
to provide me a free hand to design and implement an American and UK based working
culture for the staff. This would include the developing an effort based remuneration system
that would include to promote staff welfare and increase motivation among the subordinates.

Conclusion
Post the analysis of the different aspects of the hospitality management; I have learnt about
those factors the influence the behaviour of an individual. Additionally, two conclusions
would be deduced in a mutually related form.
In the segment of aspirations, it could be concluded relative to the learning and the
experiences in the module, personal thoughts about my future aspirations has indeed be
modulated. Prior to the beginning of the module, I preferred to work in Romania than
working in a UK based hotel as the Guest Service Manager. My reason for changes was only
based on the designation and the career advancement that would be available in Romania.
However, post the lessons, my personal thoughts regarding personal aspirations have been
significantly altered. While being a Director of a hotel in Romania has been constant,
personal attributes from self centred development has been altered to groups development.
This additionally includes the aspect of the developing the personal efficiency and the
effectiveness of the organization which would in turn lead to professional development of
myself in terms of service records and hospitality management.
In the segment of ambitions, it could be concluded that my ambitions has been alleviated post
the learning experience in the modules. Prior to the same, I was only concentrated on the
changing my occupational area and hotel in the near tenure. However, during the past few
weeks, I have been concentrating more on the staff welfare of the team that has been
provided to me in the Holiday INN at Telford. However, some of the preferred attributes and
incentives that I had personally thought prior to the learning and experience has remained the
same. This would be due to no change in the aspirations and the ambitions that I have in
terms of Romanian hotels.
Overall, it could be concluded that thoughts about the future work has essentially changed
relative to the experience gained from the lesson modules. I think that this would be because
of the two theories that was part of the lesson module. The behaviour theory enabled me to
concise my personal requirements from the industry coupled with from the potential
customers that I would be servicing. Additionally, the Vygotsky's Social Constructivist
Theory enabled me to redefine my personal expected job role of a Director of a hotel and
include all the staff that would support me to run the hotel and the hospitality trainings with
optimum efficiency.
