Introduction
The study would focus towards understanding the economic contribution of the foreign
students towards the country. The study would be a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the
contribution of the students towards the national economy. The various aspects concerning the
same would be analyzed in the same. Australia is home to many large universities that engage
with a large number of foreign students each year. The significance of these students in view of
the national economy would be the important topic of the study.
Background context
Australia has a very effective and improved educational setup. This causes many people
from different parts of the world to travel to the country for educational purpose. It is a country
that is revered worldwide for higher education. Many students make a journey to the country to
study and improve their educational and career prospects. Chinese students make up the most
number of foreign students in the country. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics on
international education and student activity, foreign students have contributed around 30 million
dollars to the economy of Australia (Australian government 2018, p. 1). Along with the same
around 240 thousand jobs in the country are contributed by them.

How many foreign students are approximately present in Australia?
In what ways do the foreign students contribute to the economy of the country?
What are the prospects of the economic growth of the educational and job sectors of the
country concerning the contribution of the students?

Aims and objectives
The aim is to find how the economy is currently benefited and will be benefited in the
future by the foreign students.

Significance of research
The research if completed successfully can help to gain further information about the
exact implications of the contributions of the foreign students to the Australian economy. In
consideration of the same the education sector of the country can be optimized to provide better
facilities to the foreign students and provide them with better scope for growth in the country
(Deloitte Economic Access 2015). The research will focus on bringing forward the most
important factors that can guide the development of the economy that is benefitted by the foreign
students. At the same time the focus would be on understanding how the foreign students can be
better integrated within the educational setup to improve the economic prospects of the academic
sector (Lawson 2014). The study would be further important as it can contribute greatly towards
the better understanding of the contributions of the students and how they can be forecasted to
improve overtime. The study can be helpful in developing the knowledge base of the future
researches that would be made concerning the same subject matter.
Research methodology and Data Collection
The research would be qualitative in nature. The research would depend on 3 interviews
that would be conducted among people related to the academic institutions of Australia. This
would include 2 professors from renowned universities and one official from the Australian
Government’s Education Department.
Data would be gathered from sources such as books Journals and Articles covering the
subject matter. The interviews would be held to gather further information and thematic analysis
would be used.
Conclusion
The study would be effective in determining the most important outcomes from the topic.
The focus would be towards covering all the important areas related to the subject matter. The
focus would be towards the efficient utilization of data.
