1INTERNATIONAL TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY
Introduction
The impact of the natural disaster can never be beneficial event for any tourism industry;
however, this can certainly have much more serious impact on some of the wellbeing of the
location than the other tourist destination. Anything like natural disaster can greatly impact the
tourism industry. This study aims to discuss the Australian bushfire, which cost the tourism
industry of Australia hundreds of millions and destroyed key tourism area of Australia and also
destroyed those families, who were running their tourism business near the area.
Summary
In the article written by Jessie Yeung, she stated about the devastating bushfires that
surround Australia's East Coast would lose hundreds of millions of dollars to the tourist industry.
After the major fires began on 8 November, almost 4,300 compensation lawsuits totaling $297
million have been filed, although the bill is likely to increase when the true scale of destruction is
revealed as further country burns during what is supposed to be a extremely hot weekend. Any of
Australia's main tourist regions, including East Gippsland in the south coast of New South Wales
and Victoria, were ravaged by the fire. The Country's Fire Authority of Victoria has requested
the relocation of East Gippsland that is visited every year by 10000 of visitors. The naval vessel
HMAS Choules was off Victoria's coast on Thursday preparing to rescue any of the 4,000
residents stranded in Mallacoota, unwilling to escape as the town's highways have been closed
off. The smoke has enveloped whole towns and reduced air pollution to unsafe levels, with at
least 20 people killed in the fires, while colonies of animals including flying foxes and
koalas have been lost. The n Natural disasters bring an economy acute suffering as they mess

with operations, deter people from heading to stores for a time, and close down industries. A
development boost arrives later when destroyed infrastructure is restored and demolished houses
are repaired. More than 2,000 homes have been burned in Australia's New South Wales state by
fires that have spread through the region the size of West Virginia, mainly in recent months.
Entire towns were covered in fires, and people in several states destroyed their houses. The worst
structural loss happened in NSW, the most populous state in the world, where 1,588 homes were
demolished and more than 650 damaged.
Critique
Their approach is to communicate with the feelings of the writers, such as compassion for
the people of Australia. This is done in the few opening statements in which the details of
the bush fire are outlined to the reader, explaining the location, date, statistics, magnitude
affected area as well as the people and tourists. Following that, they put the scenario in a more
customized way in this article. Use the well-written article to inspire solidarity and offer aid to a
ravaged area will also be encouraged and carried out following some type of tragedy. An
immensely critical aspect of how the article is viewed is the presentation and strategies employed
to communicate the author’s thoughts to the public. For examples in the way Jessie
Yeung presents the figures and details of this report brings for lighting the nature of the accident.
Stating the facts such as over 7.3 million hectares were burnt through Australia's six states an
region greater than the combined countries of Denmark and Belgium. The worst impacted state
is NSW, destroying more than 4.9 million hectares. The fires around NSW have killed around
half a billion species, with millions possibly destroyed and this is a optimistic estimation. T

may be as large as one billion worldwide. NSW estimates cover insects, snakes, and rodents
including bats. This often includes frogs as well as insects, and this is almost inevitable the actual
number would be larger, the ecologists said. About a third of the NSW koalas could have been
killed in the flames, and a third of their habitat was lost. Some animals, such as koalas, are in no
imminent danger of extinction since they are scattered all over the world. But those that survive
in more niche areas with smaller numbers, including some species of frogs and animals, may be
completely wiped out if the fires reach their ecosystems. Those are fairly decent figures based on
past population growth studies but before the fires end there is little chance for experts to
examine just how severe the destruction is, and just how many animals perished. The author's
aim for writing this article was to inspire people to try to help Australia move back to its
previous place and start traveling there again, but sadly Jessie Yeung does not go into depth
about how they can make it possible. Many tourism attractions are now healthy and operating
waiting for travelers to join company; while not specifically impacted by the bush fire to
interrupt activity, it has partially prevented their business clients, visitors, from entering activity.
Unfortunately poor protection for visitors is highly deterrent when contemplating their
destinations. However, the poor protection and safety for the visitors as well as the people of
those areas is highly deterrent when contemplating their destinations. The author may also have
suggested listing some voluntary services that operate in the region, seeking to inspire the public
to participate, support, or contribute to these initiatives.
Conclusion
This can be concluded by this study that the article addressed by Jessie Yeung was well
written in the manner, which helps the reader to sympathize with it, but also endorses the tourism

industry in Australia to promote the continuity of people traveling there to support the nation and
its citizens back to recovery and a regular lifestyle as before the bush fire. Having both emotional
and analytical solution approaches helped even each other out to connect and talk to a broader
section of the public. For a noble cause, it was a good article that should have been enhanced, but
otherwise it was always an insightful and important work.
