INTERNET TECHNOLOGY
Introduction
There are many new technologies that have emerged. Some are still in development and others are
already in use by the community. The new technologies involve new devices, new software or new
theoretical ideas. All these new technologies are developed to solve issues such as insecurity, lack of
information, finance problems and many more issues. The main problem that everyone faces in the
entire world is lack of enough information. Generally human is prone to get reading every time so as to
be on the-know. The resources we have had don’t give all the information we need. Therefore people
tend to buy many books, journals, magazines, pamphlets, gazettes and many more sources of
information. This is quite expensive for all people. Therefore most people tend to be less informed as
they can’t afford the money to buy all the resources to get the information they require.
There are many new technologies that have erupt and they are amazing. These many include many
radio stations, many television channels more devices such as mobile phones. But from a research
internet is the most vital and helpful new technology for solving most people’s problem. Most of the
devices being development are connected to the internet to become more helpful (clarityoneaudio,
2018). It is the internet that acts as an umbrella technology for most technological developments.
Internet historical information
Internet is a medium where many computers are able to communicate with each other. The devices that
includes in the internet performance include servers, routers, antennas and the cables. The internet has
been in use for a long period, but there has been gradual improvement and has turned out to be so
useful in the community. The internet has solved quite a number of issue. The first prototype of
internet was developed in the 1960s with the creation of ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency
Network) (Science Node, 2018). This allowed more computers to communicate over a single network.
The technology has grown over time. Later Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol was
developed in the 1970s by Robert and Vinton (Computerhistory.org, 2018). This enables data
transmission between many networks. In the 1990 World wide Web was invented where by data would
be accessed online in form of websites. IPV4 was used until many devices were connected to the
internet and there was need for another Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol method to
be invented. Hence IPV6 was invented to enable more devices to be connected to the internet. With the
IPV6 technology many devices can now be connected to the internet today. Today there is much data
transmitted through the network. The data is confidential are is prone to access by unauthorized
personnel. Security measures have been developed by different people with time to ensure data
security. This have enhanced the internet more useful and secure today.
The Impact of internet technology
The importance of internet is very versatile. First with access to internet provides us with much
information in various fields. It could be accounts, medicine, mechanical, news update, farming and

anyone needs to know is available via the internet. This has made acquiring knowledge so cheap, as all
you need to have is a device that can connect to the internet and one can use a search engine such as
Google, Yahoo, Bing , Ask.com, Baidu and many more to access data from the internet. With the internet

one can access the current information and past information. The internet has also provided
entertainment to people (Internet changing the way scientists publish and collaborate, 2008). Different
forms of entertainment include; music, games, movies and also there are videos of outdoor activities
one can do for fun. The games can be played online with friends or opponents globally.
Secondly, one can acquire a job via the internet. Today most people don’t necessary need to be in an
office to get employed. One can develop a website and add adverts to it and companies like Google can
pay you for the adverts. Also, it’s also easier for people to acquire jobs, as there are jobs are adverts
over the internet helps companies to market and advertise their services and the products. Online
marketing is cheaper and will definitely reach a wider market as compared to other marketing ways such
as use of billboards, posters and many more. The ways of advertising via internet includes: content
marketing, YouTube videos, Facebooks ads and Google ads.
The internet has also enhanced an easier way for online cash transactions. The money transactions are
easier, secure and made within fraction of minutes. One can make transaction via mobile devices as
people no longer need to go to the bank to have the transactions done. Also making payment of bills has
been enhanced via our mobile phones making our daily life activities smooth and at a cheaper price.
Thirdly, internet has enhanced communication be successful all over the world by using applications
such as WhatsApp, email, skype, Facebook and many other ways. Internet had made communication so
easy and global friendship is now possible (Eztalks.com, 2018). Communication is important in
companies and at an individual level too. The internet will help increase credibility for the work done.
Internet enhances customer support in companies. It is easier to offer customer support in business as
the companies that have a website have a function on their website that offers live chat with customers
who visit their website. The internet helps in managing communication in businesses, as data of the
communication is saved and one may opt to refer to the previous conversation which is easier to
retrieve. Also with internet, the companies don’t waste much of their time by waiting for messages to
reach the destination. The internet allows us to get in touch with whomever they need to get a hold of
instantly.
The fourth impact is that, internet has offered a business platform for various companies to sell their
products. The internet determines the image a company has to the community. The internet can help a
company in attaining a perfect image (CNS IT Ltd, 2018). This is achieved by the company creating a
perfect fast website. The company should ensure that services are delivered to the customers in the
fastest way possible and quick responses to the customers are emphasized. Most companies display
their products to vast potential customers all over the world via the internet, through a developed
website. The e-commerce websites help in increasing the number of sales online. Also people can make
orders via the internet. The orders could include food, clothes, house appliances, jewelry, shoes or any
item you need. Previously one was required to go to a shop to get the items one need but today they
are delivered at your door step. The items could be from abroad but still delivered at your door step at a
cheap price. So far the companies that have adapted the internet technology have enhanced the
communication level in their organization. The markets have gained more customers and their services
have been improved to their customers. The companies also get instant feedback responses on their
products from the customers. It is through the internet, that the companies have managed to keep the
more data and gather more information to make decisions in the company. Internet is a vital tool in
businesses today. Without internet the business rag behind (Techno FAQ, 2018).

Finally, Education is accessible via the internet (Online, blended and distance education in schools,
2015). There is plenty of E-Books that are available online. Most students have the education programed
so easy, as there is vast information in the internet (Jakubiak, 2010). The student can enroll in the online
course as the colleges also offer online courses (Frith and Clark, 2013). Those people who are held up at
their offices and can’t afford to go the colleges can now do certified courses via the internet (Provider,
2018). We should all be dependent on the internet technology as it makes our life simpler. Students use
the internet to make successful research. The proper research on the internet enables them to
complete the assignments and give the right reports. Normally, while doing a research one would
require a pile of books but today one needs to use the internet and a search engine that will enable
quick retrieval of the information a student requires. The internet is will provide reliable information
and faster.
From a look at the impact the internet has to the community today (Ackermann, 2013), the internet is
very important and everybody should embrace it as the data is secure. The internet today has made
most activities simpler and faster. All companies should also embrace the internet use in their daily
transactions and market themselves to a vast potential market. It’s upon everyone to make use of the
internet as it is part of us and a basic need in our lives.
