INTRODUCTION
Higher education qualifies as qualifications which are undergraduate level or above that,
usually takes the students three years to complete such education. Introduction of internet in
field of academics has been very important for the students as it has provided them necessary
equipments related to technology, communication and entertaining online activities, which are
used further by them for learning and researching content taught. With example this project will
provide importances of internet in higher education. This project also provides necessary
recommendation for improving the use of internet on higher education in 21st century.

TASK 1
Importances of internet on higher education
Internet over the years have been key towards modernizing many activities. The use of
internet have shown some significant importances on higher educations (Ali, 2020). These
importances benefit both the students and educators in higher education in their respective
ways. Some of these importances are,
Communication :
One of the biggest most important feature which internet has brought is the ability for
quick communications between lot of people. In higher education it has been very effective as
well. The services of emailing has enabled teachers and students to stay in contact with each
other with having to meet one another physically which is very important in the recent times.
Emailing services also allows them to send assignments, projects, syllabus and teaching
facilities can also use it to make announcements (Xing and Marwala, 2017). With the help of
internet a lot of paper waste produced by the teachers and students is reduced. The online
communication facility provided by internet enables those students which have missed there
classes to receive online notes and other important information. With the help of internet
students forming a team can communicate with each other when ever they want.
Research :
In the recent times the term research has been directly linked with internet. This is due
the extreme amount of knowledge and data which is present over the internet. This is why
internet is a very powerful tool which assists the teachers and students for researching about

their study topics. The usual method of researching was going to the library and searching for
the books and the topic inside of it, now with help of internet the same information can be
searched on the internet in a couple of seconds. Many institutions of higher educations have
offered the facility of online library system for allowing the students to find information on the
computers through those websites. Researching on internet provides the student and teacher
with wide variety of information on a single topic providing them a type of knowledge which they
would not get normally.
E-learning :
E-learning is very important benefit of internet in higher education. In E-learning the
learning material is present entirely on the internet or the computer. This means all the E-
learning based course are available which may include assignments, quizzes and online tests.
With the help of E-learning teachers and students can avoid the need of face to face
conversation. Student who has flexible schedules can heavily benefit from E-learning as it
allows them to study at times which is convenient for them. With the help of E-learning students
can peruse multiple courses in the similar time period. This save the time of students and also
teacher which uses this facility to teach more students at a time (Carmichael, Reid and
Karpicke, 2018).
Admission :
With the help of internet the process related to admissions in colleges and universities
have improved a lot. Application forms can be downloaded online decreasing the unnecessary
effort of both institutions and student. Just like that all the step for admissions can now be done
with the help of internet including payments. One of the major benefit for the students is that at
the time of admissions internet provides multi options of college to the student which can be
used by the student efficiently for choosing the desired college or university

The importance of internet can be understood from the given example, A student who is
studying in a university and also is playing football for the college team. For this student internet
has been very much useful because there are two major responsibilities in the life of this
student. One is acquiring high education for the university and the other is to perform well
enough in college football team for getting selected in higher levels (Cronin, 2017). Due to this
the time schedule for this student is very tight and for attending the games classes are being
missed. For someone like this student internet provides great scope. With the help of internet all
the study materials missed can be attained later from the college websites or through
communication with teachers or students. For understanding the topics which are being missed
internet is used in order to research the topic in short and efficient manner. With the help of E-
learning this student can also attend online video classes for experiencing class like study at a
suitable time. Internet provides this student the opportunity for connecting with other students
with the help of communication. Communication with other students improves the social life of
this student and also provide awareness of the ongoing studies in the class room. That is how
internet is important for this student to achieve multiple goals in life including higher studies.
With the help of the above example it can be proved that internet is very useful for
studies of all the student in higher secondary. Internet can specially help those students which
cannot provide their physical appearance to classes and lectures. This makes internet an
effective platform for higher studies students to improve their efficiency in studies

Higher Education in 21st century should provide the students certain skills which they can
use for achieving success in the world. It should also provide necessary skills and information

internet for focusing on new skills required in 21st century by making more and more sense of

According to this recommendation teacher can first analyse which students use internet
and at which level. After this analysation the teachers can understand which new methods and
techniques can be suggested to the students. Teachers can use this analysation to also suggest
the students the method of team work in which a student which has less knowledge or practice
of internet can help the other student. This skill of working as team is very crucial for higher
education on 21st century (Nayak, 2018).
Using Multimedia :
By using the multimedia feature provided with the help of internet and pre-existing
technologies teachers and educators can use it for improving the skills of the student with the
help of videos, audio which can be found on the internet to the related studies. In higher
educations practical example are very important for the studies. Practical example can be
shown on videos to the students as a group or individually sending it to them. Having practical
knowledge is considered very important in 21st century (Chugh and Ruhi, 2018).
Research activities :
Teachers can provide the students with topics, poem, article or projects as task for them
to do an exclusive research on the internet. This will increase the abilities of the student to do
research of the topic and improve the knowledge of the topic given to them. This help the
students to gain diversified knowledge of the topic which is present over the internet. In 21st
century having ability to do research on something is very important for the future of the

In 21st century a student in higher education needs to learn about working in team.

Previously for attaining higher education's student needed to travel a lot of distance. But with
the help of internet this gap has been significantly affected and reduced for the students.
Learning new technologies :
Internet helps the students and teachers to get used to new and upcoming technologies
which are used for studies. On the internet how to operate any machine or equipment is
explained in such a detail that anyone can learn it. The main skill needed in 21st is being upto
date with the latest technologies as they are developing very fast over the years. Thus, it is very
important for the student and teachers to use internet in such way (Mykhailyshyn, Kondur and
Serman, 2018).
Restricting Sites :
Internet has been found to be misused by some students in activities which should not
be a part in higher education of students. Thus, universities and institution can block such
websites to be accessed through the internet. Another way of stopping these activities would be
to spread awareness in the students of the harm's internet can do to their lives if not used
properly. 21st century provides freedom to everyone who is using internet that's why it's the
stages of higher education which can teach the students about the ethical practices of internet.

Development of skills
Task 1 has made a lot of skills and knowledge in me be developed and a lot of learning
was involved as well. I have a lot of self evaluation and self improvement factors which have to
be gained from the task 1 and for the future tasks as well. It is very important to make sure that
there is self satisfaction and improvement which is being done. There are a lot of skills which
are used to develop a report which i understood from task 1 which has to be done effectively so
that there are going to be higher operations (Ducasse and Hill, 2019). I have to make sure that
there is right improvement which is taking place in myself so that i would be able to achieve my
targets and goals which are set. Time management is very important which is that all the tasks
have a deadline and in that deadline the best must be taken out as well. Tasks have to be done
on time so that there is going to be more tasks which can be involved into. There is a lot of

learning which is present in all the tasks which are present and that is going to make sure that
there is right working and functioning that would be existing.
Note taking is a skill that not everyone have but this skill is present in me that is a great
factor. Taking notes is going to make sure that there is going to be higher operations since i
would be able to use the right information which is shared with us so that there is going to be
better understanding and the satisfaction is going to be higher as well with the end product. It is
important for me to achieve the targets and goals which is going to make sure that there are
right working and efficiency which is present as well. Finding information skill is well developed
in me which makes sure that i find the right information which is required and right
consequences are going to be present as well (García-Sánchez and Santos-Espino, 2017).
There has to be good interpretation that must exist in order to be able to have higher outcomes
and make the right functioning as well. It is on the skill that i have will the project reflect that on
others which is going to make the comparison be higher. Internet for secondary and primary
data collection is very good and technology is my strength which i developed from task 1 about
myself.
Presentation skills is also going to make the report be able to have a good impression of
the information which is being put out. It is very important to make sure that there are right
actions which are being taken so that there are higher operations and working which is going to
be present. I have a good grasp on this skill so that there is going to be higher operations and
working which is going to be present. It is important for me to have this skill and the presentation
of task 1 is also done effectively which is showing the best output and making sure that the
audience is getting the best knowledge from the headings itself (Liu and et.al., 2017). Team
working skill is weak in myself which is my biggest drawback in order to be able to gain the right
outcomes from the tasks which are present in front of me. It is important for me to have this
skills to make sure that there is good exchange of knowledge and tasks are going to be
completed on time as well. I have to gain the right knowledge and skill to make sure that there is
effective development which i would be having for being able to achieve the objectives of my
career.
Developing skills
Skills which have to be developed in me are time management, written communication
skill and team working skill which are very important for a professional field. I realized from task
1 that there is going to be a lot of pressure which is going to be existing if there is not a good

use of effective team working which is present. Struggling is present in me which is making the
results not be matched with my expectations and that is a very important aspect to have for a
long run (Coşkun, Kayıkcı and Gençay, 2019). The career option i have is going to make the
right understanding and skills which must be present in me so that i would be able to achieve
higher. Developing skills is going to make sure that i would be having higher satisfaction level
and that is going to have higher operations and achievements for myself.
There are a lot of tools like for time management 4D tool can be used which is do defer,
delegate and delete. Managing the time for the tasks is very important and good distribution of
work also has to be existing so that there would be higher operations and working which is
existing. Focus of all the individuals must be strong to make sure that there are right working
and functioning and improvement which would take place. Timings have to match of individuals
so that there is going to be higher operations and working which is going to be existing and
there is going to be better operations as well (Wiedemann, 2018). For better time management
it is important to make sure that i have the right knowledge and working skills which is good for
the overall development which is present. Team working is going to make sure that the pressure
is not going to be present on just me but all the others as well so that i would be able to work for
the responsibility which are given to me. Good focus has to be present in me for the tasks which
i am participating in so that there are going to be better functioning and operations which are
existing and that is good for my career options.
CRAAP test is going to make sure that there is effective understanding and evaluation
which is going to be present for one own self which is making sure that there are right skills
which are being developed. Social media and other sharing factors have increased and these
have to be well analysed and evaluated so that there is going to be higher development which is
going to be existing. Trust on self for completing the work is very important to make sure that
there is going to be higher operations and working which is present. Sourcing of work which is
present in task 1 was new for me and learning new topics is also very interesting and good for
the development for the future as well (Hollin and et.al., 2020). CRAAP test is only going to help
in understanding self well so that there is a good action plan that i would be able to develop for
myself. It is very crucial for myself to have the right working and information which is going to
make sure that there are right working and effectiveness which is going to be present.

Personal development plan is an action plan which an individual would develop for
themselves so that they would be able to follow one direction of working. It is very important to
self improve and evaluate self so that there are higher achievement and objectives can be
achieved faster. Requirement of all the individuals are not the same and therefore they need to
make sure that they are having the right skill in order to be able to have a good working and
