INTRODUCTION
Internet is a interconnected network which is used to provide information using
telecommunication network. Internet is very useful for business as well as society (Dwivedi. and
et.al., 2019). The company is listed in the London Stock exchange. Here in the study positive and
the negative use of the internet is covered over the business and the society (Benckendorff,
Xiang. and Sheldon, 2019). What are the threat as well as privacy faced by the organization and
society is also discussed in detail in the study and two companies such as CISCO and Oracle are
taken for making comparison and contrasting the features, suitability. Both of these are the
service providers who are providing services to Organisation.

Positive usage of internet to company.
According to (Lawrence. and et.al., 2019) Due to emergence of the internet the
businesses are successful in saving the cost and the usage of internet helps in finding out how the
cost can be saved. Before emergence of the internet it was very expensive for the companies to
manage costs like paper cost, print cost, labor cost etc all these cost have minimized after the
emergence of the internet. For business internet has resulted in increasing profitability due to
reduction in cost. Usage of internet has resulted in saving cost by entering huge amount of data
in files and folders. The labor cost is saved by less use of the labor a more use of internet by
which the data transferring became easy by just a single click irrespective of two or three labors.
As per the report written in Morning star it is found that internet is successful in reducing the
cost of the companies around 40%. The study is done taking company Organisation. The use of
internet.
Due to usage of internet has resulted in increasing online business opportunities, using
which more customers can be pinched with minimal cost. The audience can be targeted and on
the basis of the target the audience can be used for selling any product which suits their profile.
Using internet it can be found what is liked by the audiences the most and on what thing the
audiences spend time the most when they are online. Using the internet a business can run a shop
which is online and also can manage the suppliers by finding out what is the amount due from
them and what is the amount to be received in must cost effective way. Internet has resulted in

researching the competitors more effectively and analysing the competition in much detail and
the same has resulted in giving competitive advantage to the companies.
As per the view of (Sabherwal. and et.al., 2019) Using the internet has given global
assess to the company in which the same company can capture large number of customers spread
across the globe. There are networks such WAN which helps the business to capture a large area
in which the employees spread across different part of the world can be given message using
tools such as video conferencing, video presentation and graphic presentation. There is 24 hour
service available to the customers and also the service is available for all the days in the week.
The problems faced by the employees can be resolved, in which the centralized network of
communication help the employees solve the problem.
Negative usage of internet to company.
According to (Tan, Pan. and Zuo, 2019) Using the internet the data can be manipulated
and used in the duplicate form in order to make fool the audience. The employee of the company
can steal the data from the internet and use the same for the personal use which result in
providing competitive advantage to other companies. As per the report written in The Guardian
the number of hacking attacks were 43% for the small business which have resulted in a loss of
150 million USD. The negative use of internet due to the above mentioned points is stealing of
data.
As per the view of (Fidalgo, Thormann. and Davis, 2019) If access is granted for all the
site including social media site such as Facebook, Instagram and others then it can result in
wastage of time. The same can result in decline in the productivity of the employees due to
which the results of the company may vary. Playing online game while doing work is also a big
issue in which the company can suffer loss of time and which can result in making the
employees less focused and less productive towards the work. The negative use of internet is
instead of using the internet for the productive activities using the same for wasting time on
social media and playing games.
Positive usage of internet to Society.
As per the view of (Chauhan. and et.al., 2019) Internet is used for paying online bills,
making shopping online, paying taxes online, online insurance and many more services can be
availed by using internet. Many travelers use the internet in order to find out the best deal for the
hotel booking, for availing the best transportation conveyance. The Google maps are very useful

for the users which helps the users to find the ways and the chosen destination where they can
easily reach and enjoy. For example if the traveler want to search information about travel
destination which provide free breakfast and free pool party in Thailand. The traveler will search
over the internet the best travel destination for pool party in Thailand and the results will be in
front of the traveler in which the traveler can select the best destination.
As per the view of (Reuter, 2019) Online education is also a integral part of the internet
in which the society can access the internet in order to gain knowledge and training. There are
various courses available over net such as digital marketing, programming etc. They are
available for some students for free and helping thousands and millions of students getting a
better job.
Negative usage of internet to society.
The internet usage have resulted in getting more introvert and avoiding the society and
social activities. Due do more usage of internet the audiences have become lazy and their mind
has become less innovative. As per the study done it is found that the one who uses internet for 6
hours a day have poor IQ which results in making poor decision. There are various negative
impact due to usage of internet such as early hair fall, obesity, diabetes and blood pressure. The
negative use of internet for the society is finding the best fast food restaurant which results in
above mention diseases.
According to (Galanaki, Lazazzara. and Parry, 2019) Cyberbully is also a major activity
in which offending text messages and videos are sent to the users in order to make them anxious
and worried. Sex crime in which the profile pictures of the social media is being used to make
sexually explicit images and videos. The same persons are used for the threatening activities in
which they are blackmailed. In order to improve this security must be kept tight and the social
media should also restrict the account creators so that the creator can be genuine.
Compare and contrast.
As per the view of (Galt. and et.al., 2019) There are positive as well as negative aspect of
usage of internet in which the company can take advantages as well be aware of it. The internet
has enabled the business to get in touch with different perspectives of clients, which express their
new idea in business growth and development. It impacts on the business in positive manner to
improve ability of company and build a strong brand on internet platforms. The organization can
be performed in different activities that needs to implement entertainment, website and internet

promotions etc. internet will help to increase the visibility of enterprises in online market where
many consumers are attracted towards the products and services.
Furthermore, internet impact on the society in both positive and negative ways to increase
awareness among communities, groups. In this way, they are globally connected with one people
to another. Society also influenced by social media website, online business, internet in global
world. Internet impact in positive ways to increase the network connection and many types of
useful information also available on internet. It helps to increase their self-knowledge and skills.
But sometimes internet also effects on society in negative ways to misuse of personal
information of people. But if it is compared with the negative aspect there is always a risk to
internet users about the security of the data but the same can be corrected if proper security is
kept over the internet by and also malicious sites are not opened by the users. If it is done then it
can harm the internet users a lot in which the company as well as society can lead to loss of data
as well as may feel unsecure using internet.
But if it is company is contrasted with the society then the use of internet is much
harmful for the organization as it will lead to loss of important data of the organization which
can bring loss for the organization. But if it is compared to society then negative usage of
internet can lead to loss of personal information such as profile hacking.

having the percentage of 67. Sensitivity threat, As per this threat sensitive data of the companies
can get stolen, in which the details of the employees and the details of the business strategies can
be stolen. This threat is the most dangerous threat for the organization.
As per the view of (Imran. and et.al., 2019) Phishing attack is a attack known as social
engineering attack and the same is used for the stealing data such as credit card number, hacking
login credentials, opening emails of the accounts, Phishing can be done via HTTP in which cyber
crime takes place by creating a fake link which look similar to the website of the company and
the user believes that it is the link of the company. The other phishing attack is the Domain
Spoofing in which the phishers purchase the domain name which sounds similar to the actual
Domain name and uses the Domain name for sending email to the users in which the users think

that the email is same as the main email. For example if Yahoo is the original name then the
phishers will purchase the name Yahoo and the same will be promoted over the internet in order
to show that it is the real one.
These attacks constitute 54% of the total attacks (Reuter, 2019). It is the attack in which
malware software performs malicious activities in which the company is hacked with the
software and the user of the software performs the activities such copying the data and using the
data for personal advantage.
Threats for the society.
Creation of fake URL most dangerous threat in which even if the user is searching and
entering the legitimate URL it will be automatically redirected to the fake URL. Irrespective of
the URL fraud takes place in which the paying is done using the valid link but it is made to the
fake account. The users believe that they are doing valid thing but it is not so. This can cause the
usage of internet as way to loss of the company.
According to (Ul-Hameed. and et.al., 2019)Under spam messages which are unsolicited
and promotes pornography and can be found over the internet easily over the blogs or the social
sites for networking. Spam messages are sent to the users using email services in which the users
are drive to follows the fake link of the website. The usage of internet is not safe because of
usage of internet.
Viruses are the malicious thing which leads to disrupt the original data. Virus can hack
the data, play with the data and also disable the settings which are for the security. Viruses can
result in displaying the ads which are unwanted and displaying sexually explicit ads. Viruses can
be transferred from one computer to the other. It can harm the society by transferring files such
as music, videos, images, and files and folders. The usage of internet because of virus can also
harm personal documents due to virus.
It is the information which is sent to the users using the network which not encrypted or
the network which is not secure. Using the internet from the shared network the users can steal
the personal data and use the same for the personal benefit.
Security and privacy measures for society and organization
According to (Bruss. and Leuchs, 2019) Device fingerprints is the software in which the
fingerprint one have to enter and without entering the fingerprint the software or the website will
not scan and the same will lead to fewer chances of data to be stolen or hacked. This a very

effective tool using which the site will only be opened if the fingerprint matches, because each
one is having separate fingerprint and also at each finger the fingerprint is different.
Face scanning is a very effective security in which the internet website or personal data
access can not be accessed without the use it. It makes the data safe and secure because no other
person can access the data who is having the required identity mark on the face. Even fake poster
of the face is not useful in front of it. For the study Organisation is taken.
The users of the social media must set a password which is strong and very protective and
must use characteristics, alphabet, uppercase and lowercase characteristics which will lead to not
easy for a Phisher to phish the profile and this will lead to powerful anti protection of the profile
There are various antivirus software such Quick heal, Norton, McAfee etc which comes
with their own special features in which the users install it then it will lead to protection of the
computer from the viruses. If the computer is protected from the viruses then it will lead to
protection of data from any misconduct of the data. Some anti viruses are paid and some of them
are free and also there are different variants which comes with one year variant having special
features, some with lifetime variant having license key. ADAP (Advanced Detection Analysis
and Predator Tracking) is a fingerprint security system in which it is detected that from which
device the internet has been used in the company. It is very useful for detecting the person from
whose device the malware attacks have been attempted.

As per the study concluded that Internet plays a important role for development of the
business and for development of society. There are various advantages as well as disadvantages
of using internet. It is must for the company to take advantage of security and safety benefits
such as strong password, always using the updated version, antivirus etc. There are various
threats if not taken proper care than the same can harm the devices as well as the data in the
those devices. The threats are the for both organization and society and both must be taken
proper care of hackers. The two companies taken are the CISCO and Oracle which are compared
in order to get the best result.
