Problem or Challenges faced by Internet of Things in Farming
The problem faced with the implementation of IoT in farming is that the identification of soil
testing becomes difficult and monitoring related to this becomes difficult (Chandra, et al., 2017). Recent
researches states that the smart farming gets affected with the climatic changes those results in affecting
the agriculture. The agriculture gets affected in several ways such as the nutritional food qualities change.
This also affects the nature as the temperature increases, level of the carbon dioxide in the nature also
increases, the ozone layer is depleted with time (Ryu, et al., 2015) . In addition to this as the chemicals
will be used while farming, the soil will lose its fertility after yielding for 2 to 3 times (Gubbi, et al.,
2013). The challenges that are likely to come with the implementation of this technology, is that it will
reduce the need of human power, thus to some extent it will remove employment. But there is huge
importance of IoT in farming as this helps in monitoring on several works such as scanning of water
tanks, predicting diseases that are related to crops and many more (Hashem, et al., 2015).

1. Abstract: Abstract will describe about the paper and will give an overview of the paper. The
overview of the topic with the main content and conclusion will be also drawn in this part.
2. Introduction: Introduction will discuss about the uses of internet of things in smart farms.
The necessary steps and the uses of the IoT in the smart firms will be discussed. This part of the
paper will define the meaning of smart farms and the need of smart farms in the country.
3. Literature Review: Literature review will critically analyze the importance and the
application if IoT in today’s life. This is a critical evaluation of the IoT in the smart farms. This
part will describe how this will help in developing the farms and what benefits will be achieved
after implementing IoT in farms.
4. Internet of Things and Cloud Computing: This part of the paper will discuss about IoT and
Cloud Computing. The importance of the technologies in developing the agriculture fields will
be discussed for this part.
5. System Monitoring on soil: This part will discuss about the need of monitoring feature on
soil. This will include all the details regarding the soil and the treatments required in the soil. So
that the soil can be treated, well and maximum faming can be done.
6. Testing of Soil: This part will discuss about soil, helps in determining the fertility of the soil,
and determines whether the soil is appropriate for growing crops or not.
7. Farming with the help of IoT and Mobile Cloud: With the help of IoT and Mobile Cloud
one can easily operate their fields. Everyone will be able to store the details regarding the farm in
the cloud database and can check whenever needed. With the help of IoT, the farms can be
