Digital or information age is time period starting from 1970 with introduction of personal
computers along with introduced advance technology for the ability of transferring data and
information quickly. The information age is historic period beginning from 20th century defined
by shift from traditional industry than that of industrial revolution developed for transistor
technology. The information age formed through capitalizing computer microminiaturization
advances where use of computing technology in wider society context will lead to modernization
of communication and information driving forces for social evolution. The study will address
positive and negative use of internet in contract of businesses and society. Further the study will
address threats faced by organizations and society due to use of these services, along with
measures of security and privacy taken at the time of applicability of services used online.
Finally, the report will address different communication providers along with their features,

People in today's time can go and refer review in fields of medical studies, business articles,
medical articles, scientific articles, videos, hobbies as well as can evaluate solution or suggestion
for any question. Internet also provide entertainment such as viewing of TV shows, music,
videos, B-movies and podcast from across every sources. Internet can also help in viewing sports
events, scores and even help in making communication with doctor, boss or important people on
daily basis. Thus, internet is stated effective for society and further simplify the activities of
business practices and develop life standards and abundance of knowledge for society (Bates,
2018).
Communication with relatives, friends and family effectively
Services such as Skype and Gmail and many other applications helped people connect all
over the world with loved ones. Being away with loved ones is difficult but with the availability
of internet they can be close to each other by these means. Kids away from their families and
father or grandparents away from their sons can communicate effectively by internet using
several applications where society can interact with their known one in society whereas business
meetings can be done effectively with being physical presence of all the employees and

individuals these days ignore people touch and can ignore further harassment. Abundance of

adults. These days well know personalities are victimised by these acts leading to affect their
personalities. Several underage people along putting and viewing illegal pictures and videos on

internet. The effect of internet had affected the minds of people very adversely these days which
lead to unethical activities in societies leading to affecting peoples conditions and state of mind
(Harcourt, 2015).
Minimised human touch
Involvement of internet practices of people has lead to elimination of involvement of
people in real world. Social networking promoted relationship with virtual friends than that of
real ones which affected relationships with families, friends as well as co workers and developed
fear of meeting strangers that has also affected the factor of humanity among st them. The loss of
human touch in society have attacked love and affection and people focuses on ignoring physical
meetings from others (Jones, Chik and Hafner, 2015).
Access of information to criminal minded and corrupt people
Use of e mails and other social networking base has promoted the act of criminal minded
people along with their practices of with drawing information about credit cards and other
banking things leading to activities such as fraud about banking matters which is threat to
people's life as they are living under surveillance camera within the world of internet and
computer (Kowalski and Giumetti, 2017).
Abandonment of families
People these days became insensitive as they are absorbed by the hidden lies of internet.
Several cases provided information about these harsh facts that a couple in Korea forgot to feed
their little child as they were engaged in feeding their virtual child. The problem also stated that
involvement of gaming ad other online activities' withdrawer attention of individuals. These days
children are away from their grand parents as they are technically challenged and only task about
their experiences and other tales which made then emotionally insensitive and affected their
lifestyle adversely. The involvement of practices of internet and modern age advancements has
led individuals away from families eliminating their morals and sentiments required by any
human being for healthy living beings (Marsh and et.al., 2017).

of total. This software may develop chances of containing malware and can affect or damage the
machine of individual. These can affect individual machines in terms of spyware, viruses,
rootkits, trojans and so on. Organization may develop chances of losing their data and
confidential information and even society is in great threat as this software can develop
surveillance and monitor individuals activities (McKnight and et.al., 2016).
Virus
Viruses are one of the most popular internet threats. These atomically attach themselves
into downloaded files of individuals and infect files and folders of the machines. These are said
to be spreading at an alarming rate then it was ever being which is shared by CD's, DVD's and
even USB sticks loaded from computer. These lead to rotting of personal and even confidential
data use for firm such as baking details, login credential as well as several corruptions into study
and even societal information leading to affecting businesses and societies as they are very tough
to remove and easy to develop and at time treatment of virus also causes data loss and affect
business positions and conditions (Mowlabocus, 2016).

computer network which is used by most of the individuals on daily basis. It stated positive use
of internet for the society and business such as developing research practices, saving travel time,
effective communication and opportunities for working from home where several negative
effects such as abandonment of families, access to pornography and less human touch are some
of the negative use of internet to business and society. Further it discussed threats of internet to
the society and business such as spam, viruses, fishing along with several measures are addressed
to overcome them such as developing strong passwords, using social media sensitively and
defend devices through several protections such as anti viruses, etc. Lastly the study addressed
difference in communication providers such as Virgin Media and Vodafone in their practices of
feature such as applications, user support along with their practices of sustainable environment
like involvement in environment protecting act and practice of generation of employment among
the people they are surrounded with.
