Project Scope and Goal
Project Scope
A network is needed to be installed for the University of Future Technology in Australia
having two campuses located at the two different end of the city. A network is needed to be
deployed for interconnecting the lecture theaters, Lab, Faculty area, Administration Office and
student areas for both the campuses. Internet access is needed to be provided to each of the
employee and they are also needed to be provided wireless connectivity such that they can access
internet to solve their query during the lecture.

Out Scope
The layout of the cable is needed to be deployed by the facility department and it is out of
scope for the network development plan.
Project Goals
The goal of the project is to develop a network design such that it can be used for
dividing the network traffic for the student, faculty and admin. The network solution is also
needed to be secured with separate login id and password and active directory is needed to be

INTERNETWORKING TECHNOLOGIES
The network solution for University of Future Technology is prepared following the
requirement and the network is divided into multiple VLAN for the management of user data and
serve the needs of the user. The network is developed throughout the lecture theaters, lab, facility
area, administration office and the student service area. The network is developed for enabling
centralized management and VTP domain is created for automatically distributing the VLAN
information. Each of the department are assigned with separate VLAN and separate access point
is used such that the user can access the data and internet service seamlessly. Separate interface
is used for the administrative office since it is located in an adjacent building. Separate subnet is
used for connecting the office and full connectivity for the internet and data service is offered.
The servers are installed in the administration office and access to the subnet is managed such
that the network is kept secured from unauthorized users. The following IP addressing plan is
followed for the configuration of the network device interface and the VLAN. The configuration
steps and commands used for the configuration of the network are given in the following section
of the report.
