Self-diagnostic tools act as useful inventories for individuals who aim to understand
their characteristics, such as personality. Upon completing the self-diagnostic tool
‘Pinpointing My Personality Preference’, I have come to know that my personality type is E-
N-P-F which stands for Extraverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving. This is one of the sixteen
personality types created by researchers Briggs and Myers. A person with this form of
personality is always energised, indicative of being an extravert in nature, and puts the focus
on concepts and ideas instead of details and facts, making him intuitive. Decisions are based
on feelings and values, and the person is perceiving in that he is flexible and spontaneous
instead of planned. A person with this type of personality is called as Champion due to the
enthusiasm to help other achieve life goals.
I agree with the result of the diagnostic that I exhibit the ENFP personality since
perceive myself to be a free spirit in true terms. I have often been complimented for being
energetic, compassionate, independent and charming, and adding to this I belief that
emotional and social connections are of much importance to me than materialistic
possessions. While I prefer exploring feelings and ideas before taking a decision, I also refer
to my courage and imagination for producing incredible results. I take almost every chance to
connection with my loved ones emotionally and motivate and encourage my friends to realise
their ambitions and goals. Lastly, I often trust my intuition and instincts when it comes to
engaging in a crucial decision making process, both on the personal and professional front.
My personality traits have been valuable for me in my personal life as the spontaneity
and adaptability I demonstrate have made me a socialising person. My friends consider me as
approachable and interesting, and I gain a feeling of satisfaction my stretching my circle of
friends wide and far. I tend to have an altruistic spirit and empathetic disposition, and as a
result, the connections made with people are strong. Further, my ability to communicate
excellently enables me to engage in meaningful and deep conversations. One prominent

aspect that I would like to highlight is that my communication skills help me to steer
conversations towards a direction as thought fit by me in an unforced and natural manner.
At this juncture, I would like to mention how my personality traits pose challenges for
my personal life and how my professional life might be influenced in future. Since I am very
sensitive and value the feelings of those I care for, I might get overwhelmed when
approached for guidance to the extent that might be harmful to me. Further, though
emotional expression is natural, I experience emotional bursts when under stress or faced
with conflict. On the professional field, my poor practical skills might act as a barrier in
conceiving ideas crucial in the workplace. I might also be misunderstood as an individual
giving more priority to interpersonal philosophy than organisational objectives. It might be
harder for me to prove my capability and worth when my role shifts more towards that of a
manager and administrative matters.
