INTRODUCTION
Inter-professional Collaborative Practice can b determined as the joint support of
different people who have vast experience from their respective field and they are helpful enough
to work together as a team and deliver effective care to patients (Schmitt, Blue and Viggiano,
2011 ). Present report is on a case study of Mr William Bosch who was 77 years old who was
hospitalised due to stroke. This report covers the core competencies of Inter professional
Collaborative Practice. Lastly it also includes Inter professional approach for Mr Bosch’s care
that should be followed.
1. Core competencies of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice
There are four different type of inter-professional competencies and each of them are
with general defining statement. Further, it also includes behavioural sub-competencies which
learner should possess. Below given are the core competencies of Inter-professional
Collaborative Practice:
Ethics/values: It is essential for the professional working with other professionals
maintain proper climate in which all individuals will be able to work effectively and efficiently
(Gittell, Godfrey and Thistlethwaite, 2013). Further, there should be set of values that should be
followed so that individuals will be able to develop trust and confidence with each other.
Role and responsibilities: All the professional involved in the care should have proper
know ledge about the type of role and responsibilities that has to be played. They should address
the health needs of patients and accordingly care should be provided.
Inter-professional communication: Communication play vital role in understanding the
type of issues that are being faced and to avoid confusions. It is essential to have proper
communication between patients and other professional so that effective care can be delivered.
Teams and teamwork: It requires relationship building of values and other principles of
team in order to perform efficiently in various type of team roles (Orchard, 2010).
2. Outlining and analyzing approach of interprofessional for Mr. Bosch care
There are several approaches which can be applied by care home for Mr. Bosch. For this
purpose, patient-centered care is the more effective under which shared decision will be taken for
taking care of the patients. This proves to be effective in deriving valid outcome. As currently the
patient is not allowing nursing staff to assist with the hygiene needs or pressure care. At this
juncture, nursing staff can discuss with patients and family members of the same through which

it becomes easy to render right kind of care among them. Under this, nursing staff will come to
know about the care requirement of the patients under which he or she do not resist about the
same. It would be effective to care their requirement effectively and plan for the effective care
package (Shewchuk, O'Connor and Fine 2005). Further, inter professional collaboration is
established whereby it becomes easy to integrate personnel and provide them proper guidelines
related to imparting treatment for the patients. It leads to cater their requirement in the most
effective manner. In addition this, patient centered approach is implemented with the help of
communication, team function and reflection as well as conflict resolution. On a critical note,
collaboration practice is considered as the most effective one under which nursing staff must
handle the conflict resolution situation. For this p purpose, nursing staff will work with
integration and their role will be clarified among them in the right manner. These mentioned
approach can be effective to render the care for Mr. Bosch.
3. Identifying and discussing two benefits for Mr Bosch and two benefits for registered nurse
There are several benefits of using the inter-professional health care approach for the Mr.
Bosch. Here, it is very important to consider the treatment requirement of the patients effectively
and address their issues in the right manner. According to the given case study, Mr. Bosch is
suffering from the health issues and not willing to take part in the assertive care. For this
purpose, application of inter-professional approach makes it possible for patient to get the
desired health care service. This proves to be effective in bringing the necessary improvement in
their body as services will be provided regulatory. However, earlier he was not ready to get the
services and was not allowing the family members as well as nursing staff. Thus, application of
suitable approach makes it possible to cater their requirement effectively and provide them right
kind of environment. The another benefit which will have to Mr. Bosch is of quick recovery as
he will be treated effectively which will give him actual satisfaction. Thus, two most effective
profit are deriving for the patient (Interprofessional Approaches to Health Disparities, 2016).
In addition to this, registered nursing staff would also get benefit out of the inter-
professional approach as they will learn the activities related to working in team and supporting
the members effectively. Also, they will explore new knowledge by working with experts.
Moreover, using the patient-centered approach it becomes possible for different parties to seek
for the new opportunities and provide the right solution for the issues which are being faced by
the patients. Therefore, all related activities can be updated and higher rate of return can be

deriving the business health care segment due to satisfaction among nursing staff as well as
service users. In this manner, application of inter-professional approach under the health care
segment is considered as the relatively more cost effective. This reduces the need of training and
support nursing staff to learn new aspect of rendering the services. Thus, nursing staff effectively
get the service out of the inter-professional approach so as to generate the positive attitude and
work with collaboration (Gittell, Godfrey and Thistlethwaite, 2013).
CONCLUSION
The aforementioned report concludes that inter-professional approach in health care is
important under which team of nursing staff put efforts to bring necessary improvement in the
human health. It proves to be effective to shift their focus towards the independent life style. It
can also be concluded that patient-centered approach is also effective under which shared
decision are taken for the well being of both patient and nursing staff.
