1) What are the steps associated with planning for a new facility or facility renovation?
- In todays world, technology and some other pressures on the field of sport are
changing as well as evolving on a rapid basis. Thus, it plays a big role in the process
of planning of new facilities of the sports or facility renovation. In the past times,
organizations of sport are carried out their programs and their facilities for the
upcoming 50 years of time duration (Feng & Humphreys, 2018). As the updates in
technology and some other pressures is being gradually increasing with a great speed,
all organizations of sports are going through a tough time planning that much far
ahead. The steps that are associated with planning for a new facility or facility
renovation are –
 Wireless internet
 HD (High-definition) video boards
 Premium seating and luxury boxes
 Radio frequency identification (RFID)
 Facility negligence lawsuits
 High-end concessions
 Design of multipurpose event
 Leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) standards
2) To combat the issues with the budget, should the number of sports that is being
offered be increased or decreased? Why?
- The ability of the program of interscholastic athletic for the prediction and/or
adjusting to the changes in facility demanded will dictate their overall success in
future. Facilities which are built with the change in mind are more and more perfect to
be retrofitted in order to meet the demands that is ever-changing of sport (Bocarro et
al., 2014). Nevertheless, this planning is involved with a big amount of financial cost.

The cost associated with the new facilities is rising higher at a speedy rate, as well as
the cost that is to be include the most technology of up-to-date nature was pushed
those costs to an even advanced rate, as it is being discussed in the module four.
Beyond every planning of facility, interscholastic organization must also consider
sponsorship in sport in terms of that programs/teams that they will offer. In this monarchy,
the organization has accessed that sports which will or may have not have offer in many other
different ways. Few other institutions will have a look at the sponsorship of sports from a
current/historical numbers perspective. They all are offering the sports historically as well as
it will continue in order to offer the sports as long as they have more than enough candidates
to field in a team. This is referred to as the very basic approach and it does not require any
involvement of any planning of strategy (Higgins, 2010).
The number of sports that is being offered is to be increased. The reason behind this is
that the other institutions is looking to interscholastic athletics for increasing enrollments and
boost publicity as well as retention for their particular school. Therefore, they need to
increase the number of sports offered for bringing more students to their institution. Whereas
some schools are there who all have added the game of football because of its large schedule
sizes, and on the other hand, some schools have added swimming and diving, lacrosse, golf
and some other programs related to sports (Yeung, 2015).
