Introduction
Qualitative data sources are one of the most important sources of collecting primary and fresh
data. As in this, there are several numbers of resources which have been used by a person, so that
they can collect some fresh as well as some relative data on some specific topic which never has
been used by any other person. This report is the reflective part of interviewer, where he is going
to detail the experience of them from the interview which they have conducted. Along with this,
it will detail the challenges and issues faced by interviewer; also how the interview will help
them in improving their skills will also come in discussion. In this, the HR manager of XYZ
private Ltd. has taken an interview of about 20 interviewees for the post of sales manager in their
organization.

1. Interview detail
I am the HR manager of XYZ private Ltd. and also use to handle the work of managing human
resources in different departments of the organization. In this part of the report, I am going to
detail about the interview which was taken by me of 20 members for the post of sales manager in
our organization. The members who were eligible for appearing in the interview must have
experience of minimum 2 years working on the post of Sales manager in some well-known
organization. Along with this, I have fixed some basic educational requirements, for the
eligibility criteria of the interview. In this, it is very much important that the appearing candidate
must be graduated and also has the degree of management. This will help me in fixing some
filters on the application which I have received for the interview, so candidates those
applications get refined and only most eligible candidates come for interview. For initializing the
interview, I have prepared a set of questionnaires that I am going to ask from those candidates.
Also, while conducting interview, there were several points where I had thought that the person
sitting in front of me for interview is far much better than me. This thought of mine has helped
me in learning new things and also has helped me in improving my skills so that I can improve
my performance at the workplace of mine. Along with this, due to interviewing candidates who
have better skills and competencies as compared to me has posed an ample number of challenges
for me. Along with huge number of challenges, there are several things that I have learned from
that interview experience. As it has helped me gaining knowledge about the fields in which I
need some improvement and also helps me in briefing about the skills and competencies of mine
in which some enhancement and improvement is needed. This all will help in enhancing my
performance, so that organization can achieve their goals and objectives. Improvement in my
skills and competencies will help the organization along with me, as this will give me
opportunities related to personal growth and development. Along with all these, the interview
which has been conducted by me has helped me in learning new things from the candidates who
have appeared for the interview. Also, this interview has posed an ample number of problems for
me due to which I was able to think out of the box, and also has helped in increasing the thinking

2. Challenges faced in an interview
While conducting an interview for the post of sales manager in XYZ private Ltd. there was an
ample number of challenges that I have faced. As challenges which were faced by me are
difference in language, due to which I was not able to understand what interviewee was trying to
say. Also another challenge which was faced by me is related to my knowledge, as there were
several candidates who had knowledge more than me. This all made the process of interview
very tough for me, as I was not able to assist that person properly and also due to increase in the
complexity of the process, it becomes very tough for me to assist those candidates.
The biggest challenge which was faced by me while taking interviews of different candidates
was related to language. The person appearing for the interview does not have proper knowledge
about English language and also the mother tongue of that person is not understandable by me.
This all has increased the communication gap between both of us, as interviewee was not able to
understand that what I was trying to ask them and also I was not able to understand that what
they were trying to detail me. This all has become one of the biggest challenges during interview
for me, and it may be possible that due to this also I was not able to select a person who was very
much skillful and also have good base of competencies. Also, the knowledge of mine related to
sales and marketing was not proven as sufficient. I am a person of Human Resource and
management department, and I have knowledge which is very much basic and not sufficient for
conducting an interview. But due to lack of capable person my seniors have suggested I complete
the interview. This became one of the biggest challenges for me during conducting the interview.
As many appearing candidates have good knowledge as compared to me, due to which it has
become tough for me to make any type of judgment over appearing person. Along with this,
during interview for checking that the candidate is giving right answer or not, help of internet
was required by me. As I have to cross verify the answer given by the candidate, so that I can
make a proper judgment that a candidate has to get selected or not by me.
Another issue which I have faced during the interview was related to decision which I have to
make for selecting candidates for final round and also same issue was faced by me during
making final selection. As, not having proper information and knowledge of the work has led to

3. Learnings from interview
The interview conducted by me was one of the best experiences of my life. This has helped me
in improving my skills and competencies, which I can use in my professional as well as in
personal life. Along with this, that interview has helped me in making improvements in skills
and competencies, so that I can improve my performance and also can achieve the goals and
objectives of mine. Also, this has helped me in increasing the level of performance so that I can
give my best to the organization towards achieving each and every goal of the organization.
The challenges which were faced by me are now very much helpful for me, as they have given
me the detail about the skills in which I need some improvement. And also the development of
those skills and competencies has helped me in improving my overall personality as well as
professional life. The difference in language was one of the biggest challenges for me in that
