Introduction
The systematic environment gets changed when the organization's learning from individuals gets
changed or interpreted from the learning from an adult. Many theorists have suggested that with
the learning of an individual, the organization also learns. The web technology's use by the
organization in the form of networks of private knowledge and the intranet form is now getting
very obvious and ubiquitous, but the individuals are still unknown as to how this use of
technology can make them think better and in a more innovative way and manner. In this essay,
we will be discussing how the learning for an organization can get enhanced and also the
different ways in which the technology like intranet can be put to use for making the learning
culture of an organization more effective.

Learning Organization
Learning organization as a term was coined by Peter Senge. In a learning organization, the
complete environment of the organization is learning environment. It should be in tune with the
organization’s goals. The people who want to create their results with full capacity and where
they want to expand continually, Learning organization is the right place for them. It gives them
the chance and freedom to nurture their creative thinking and set their aspirations free. As we
were discussing above, use of technology like intranet enables an organization to facilitate
sharing of knowledge among members of the organization (Baldwin, M., 2016). The user
member’s group can easily share this knowledge with the users as the knowledge is explicit. But
it is a well-known fact that the knowledge within the minds of the users are stored in the
knowledge management tools and it is only the end user that will put some sense over the

messages and data over the intranet by using their knowledge of tacit. Some Features that can be
added to the Organization’s Intranet are like firstly, to improve the productivity in the
organization, the employees should be given the access to almost all the information and tools
they need to perform everyday tasks. Some of the information and the tools which can be
provided to the employees can be latest discussions updated news, relevant tasks, documents,
Emails, latest meetings, and events. Secondly, regarding managing the communications between
the management and employees, Intranet can facilitate beneficially. This is because, in an
organization, the main tool for the employees to share their information is Intranet. There are
various benefits an intranet can provide to the organization like Advertising new policies and
initiatives, important announcements can be published, employees can be rewarded based on
merit basis, many feedbacks can be collected by way of suggestions and surveys.
Thirdly, Organizational Processes are streamlined. It has been seen that the intranets nowadays
are having the real tools which are used in the organization by all employees. Thus the
employees should be given the access to use the actual tools to commensurate the process and
end it with greater efficiency. Intranets should be put to use for processes like appraising of
employees to processes like project management and CRM. Furthermore, it can be an incentive
to collaborate as intranets should have certain tools embedded in them which should enable the
employees to socialize and collaborate. The use of intranet should not only be limited to
accessing the information but also to work together in groups inside the intranet software. This
networking facilities can help the employees to discover competencies and skills of colleagues
and to keep aside the hierarchy biases in the organization. And lastly, management of knowledge
inside the organization means retrieving, capturing and organizing the information inside the
organization (Hitt, W.D., 2013). With the help of all the information and tools inside the

organization’s intranet, employees may constantly update the latest information like documents,
blogs, discussions, and comments. A tool to search the relevant information inside the intranet
must be added to provide the requisite information to the employees.
Theories and Concepts related to Knowledge Management
In today’s era, Knowledge sharing and learning in the organization has become an independent
discipline in the field of science actively supported by practitioners, academic researchers’
consultants and corporate environment. The three basic categories of Knowledge sharing
includes Techno-centric (Centered towards designing of technology), Organizational Sharing of
knowledge (hierarchical and cultural designing of organization) and lastly Ecological knowledge
sharing (centered towards relationships, people, interactions among organizations and people). In
this section, we will be discussing the various theories which are related to knowledge
management. In this field, many proficient and renowned researchers have given their
tremendous efforts to establish and prove their work in various famous theories like I space, N-
Learning, Dreyfus Model of Skill Acquisition and Double loop learning.
I-Space defined as the degree of knowledge structure. As the development of knowledge takes
place, its level of abstraction and codification gets diffused into it. I Space can result in four
types of knowledge- Public (newspaper and textbooks), Proprietary (confidential secrets of office
and patents), Personal (knowledge which is biological), common-sense (The tacit knowledge of
people).

As the flow of knowledge increase, it gives rise to a learning process called as Social Learning
Cycle- SLC. In this process, creation of new knowledge takes place; it gets shared via diffusing
and then absorbed into the population through Intranet.
In the field of operations and educational research, the Dreyfus model of skill acquisition shows
that how students acquire their skills and knowledge through formal education, practices and
instructions. It has explained that a student has to go through five different phases: Novice,
Advanced Beginner, Competent, Proficient and Expert (Farrell, R. (2013).

Another research design which was proposed by some researchers was Double Loop Learning
which explains that the decision making and he goals can be modified with time and experience.
The decision making and the goals are used in the first loop. In the second loop, the
modifications are done to the decision-making and goals. A source of a problem can be the way
of defining the problem is recognized by Double loop learning (Reychav, et al 2016).

Business Intelligence- An Asset to Organization
Another most significant asset to the organization is the evolving of Business Intelligence. It is
defined as a process or an approach to integrate and cater to the useful and relevant information
of the business inside an organization. Companies can adapt themselves and their culture about
the changing scenario in the environment quickly with the help of Business Intelligence by
monitoring and identifying the trends of business and detecting the events which are significant
to the organization. There are many benefits which can accrue to a business with the help of
Business Intelligence. Firstly, managers can get deep understanding about the behavior of the
consumers and can easily know about the current trends of the consumption and profitability (Li,
et al., 2013). Data can be turned into information which is actionable. The key patterns and
trends in the organization can be easily identified to make the conclusions in the business. It can
also enhance the opportunities in the organization and also enables the managers to plan for the
successful accomplishment of the goals in the future. Also Business intelligence can enhance
efficiency in the organization and hence can lead to improved results and productivity. This may
also reduce duplicity in the duties and the roles to be performed and can increase accuracy

web pages on map of Yahoo. Secondly, Mashups can personalize the website of corporate like
registering each user by Google specific calendar and then combining the data of these users for
unique purpose. Furthermore, with the help of IP address of visitors coming online, mashups can
be used to display the position of ads on the website of the company. Lastly, Mashups can lead to
implementation of new idea which is cost effective and can be applied in short time and can
prove it in an innovative manner. Designing and aggregating the workflow process is possible in
case of Mashup based Applications. Instead of visiting individual career websites like hot jobs,
CareerBuilder and monster.com one by one, Mashups can aggregate many web pages of
employment into one single Web page.

Intranet needs to be deployed with great consciousness and after considering multiple factors to
get access to maximum gain on creation of knowledge, as it is the end users who give intranet
the desired meaning. The intranet should be put to use and also implemented as a knowledge
sharing tool which needs to be carefully understood as it can impact the socio-cultural
environment. This also means that using intranet can solve our communication problems as we
can explain our problems and issues easily. By incorporating sense fully the processes during
socio-cultural analysis and implementing managerial processes, we can understand the cultural
implications of intranets. This approach offers the happening of integrating the communication at
virtual level with patterns of behaviors of the society in the actual world.
