CRAAP test describes the main concepts used in it which are currency, relevance , authority ,
accuracy and purpose.
I used the CRAAP test to evaluate various sources of my research. The first concept of the test is
Currency which is used to check if the source is recent or has been updated to align with latest
developments on this subject (Villarreal and Martinez, 2018). I used this concept to find the
most recent addition of my source as it would have been updated with useful changes. This
procedure helped me find the most recent information on the topics of my research. The second
concept is used to inspect the relevancy of the used information and I used this concept to verify
the accuracy of this information with the overall impression of my assignment and the
background of my readers. I used the concept of authority to investigate the educational
qualification and background of primary contributors to my sources. This provided my research
information from prestigious and accountable sources. I used this test to verify the credibility of
various sources written in my paper. This element of the test improved my research as it helped
me eliminate any source of prejudice and stopped any biased information from entering my
research (Al-Otaibi, 2017). This test helped me in identifying the aim of various information
during my research and helped me remove sources with intention to subvert facts, spread
propaganda and any grammatical mistakes. This test assissted me identify and remove any
factors which would compromise the reliability or bring negative factors such as partial or false
information in the making of my research and helped me find and evaluate most suitable
information for my subject.
