INTRODUCTION
There has to be good distribution of roles and responsibilities which has to be present in
an organization so that there is going to be advanced functioning and performance which is
going to be present. Unilever is operating in bazaar since 1929 which is having its headquarters
in London, United Kingdom. There are more than 155,000 employees working in the company
which is a very good factor for the performance and expansion factor of the company as well.
The report is going to discuss the roles of different departments, roles of financial management
and collaborate working which needs to be present for a business to be able to operate effectively
and smoothly in the market.
MAIN BODY
Role of HR, marketing and finance functions
It is very important for the departments of the organization to know their responsibilities
and roles in the market so that they can make the right functioning. There is going to be higher
achievement of targets and goals which would be present by having this factor since the sense of
direction is going to be present (Reilly and Jones III, 2017). Following report is going to discuss
the functions of human resource, finance and marketing in the market of Unilever so that there is
going to be higher performance.
Human resources
There is a requirement of a strong bridge between the management and the employees which
is filled by this department in Unilever which is going to be very good for the operations. The
standards of the company are higher therefore it is important for the company to have good
monitoring and controlling on the employees from time to time so that there is going to be higher
reputation which is going to be present. Hiring the right employees and managing their
performance in the company has to be present (Kriz and Welch, 2018). The employees are also
trained from time to time so that there is going to be higher environmental improvement which is
going to be present. Motivating the employees from time to time is very important for the

organization to have which is going to make the business be able to have higher and best
functioning in the market.
Marketing
Marketing department of the organization has to be present so that company will be able to
have the right investment for surviving in the market. There has to be good network which has to
be present and social media, press, media, etc have to be in favour of the company so that there is
going to be good reach. The needs and demands of the customers are increasing in the market
and they have to be well maintained in the company so that there is going to be higher
achievement of competitors in market (Eizaguirre, García-Feijoo and Laka, 2019). The quality of
the products and services also has to be maintained for the brand value of the company in the
market.
Finance
There is an experienced workforce for financial department of the company which is going to
make the operations even smoother in the company. There is going to be good distribution of
profits and funds which are coming in the company and that is going to make the company be
able to invest in technological improvement or expansion (Nguyen, Mickiewicz and Du, 2018).
Finance department if the backbone of Unilever which is going to make the good control on the
company and there is also going to be good payment which can be received by the employees of
the organization as well. There has to be effective operations of functioning which is required in
company so that there is going to be higher functioning which is going to be present.
Understanding of collaborative working practice
All the functioning of an organization are going to have a common goal which has to be
present so that there is going to be effective working and the targets of the organization have to
be matched. Unilever is having good collaboration of working which is going to make
participation of all the employees be present in company which is going to help company be able

Unilever is always wanting new investment of employees in the decisions which are being
taken in the company so that there is going to be higher improvement which would be present.
Experience and observation of the company is present and listening is a very important skill
which all the employees must have so that there is going to be higher advantage which the
organization can have (Nielsen and Raswant, 2018). There are going to be new ideas and
uniqueness which can come in business and that is going to help organization be able to have
higher loyalty of the customers as well. Innovation and invention is going to take place in the
organization which is going to make the operations of the organization be present.
Individual strengths
All the individuals of an organization have different and unique strengths in the skills and
knowledge they have therefore it is important that the distribution of work and respect is present
for all. There has to be good fair and right treatment which all the individuals must have so that
there is going to be higher distribution of functioning which is going to be present. Team
members have to have a common goal and understanding so that the conflicts are going to be
less and there has to be good pairing of the employees as well (Trapp, Voigt and Brem, 2018).
There is going to be good exchange of work as well which needs to be present in company so
that there is going to be higher functioning.
Establish realistic expectations
The employees are going to be given realistic objectives and missions so that there is going
to be good working. The decisions of Unilever are taken after understanding the point of view of
the employees of firm so that there is going to be good understanding. There is going to be
higher clarity which is going to be present in company and expectations are also going to be
matched in the organization (Malmborg and et.al., 2017). The roles and responsibilities of the
employees is going to be present and reviewed from time to time so that there is going to be

the company so that there is going to be advanced performance.
Knowledge of the roles of financial management
Financial management of business needs to be higher so that there is going to be effective
working and the smoother competitive advantage the organization will be able to gain. There has
to be good distribution which financial management will have to have in the organization so that
there is going to be better functioning of the other departments in the market as well which is
going to be present (Ellis and et.al., 2017).
Getting in funds
There has to be good liquidity of cash which has to be present which is going to help firm to
be able to achieve targets, objectives and goals of company so that the reputation is going to be
intact. The company has to work for the profitability in the market so that there has to be good
for the loyalty of the organization for good sales and functioning which is going to make the
company be able to operate effectively in bazaar.
Allocating funds
There is a fund channel which the company needs to have so that the allocation of the funds
is going to be present for effective working (Kingsley, Noordewier and Bergh, 2017). There is a
direct and indirect influence of managerial activities which is going to be present in the financial
processing.
Profit planning
The profits of the company have to be used effectively in firm so that the targets and
achievements of the company are going to be present. The company can plan their profits for
technological and expansion purpose which is going to help the organization be able to have
higher brand value and reputation in the market.
