1INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW TESTAMENT
Introduction to The Gospel of Luke
The Gospel of Luke was said to be written by Luke, who is known among the
Christians as well as the readers of religion as one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ.
Luke was a Greek and was the first Gentile Christian writer who wrote The New Testament
about the teachings of Christ himself. Although there are some confusions about the
authenticity of Luke as one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ himself, still it is stated he
had access to the historical records using which he had carefully researched the life and the
teachings of Jesus Christ himself.
The Gospel of Luke mainly deals with the themes which state about the humility of
Jesus Christ himself. The Gospel tells the readers about the subject matter of the life of Jesus
Christ himself and how he had offered himself as a sacrifice for washing the sins of the
human beings. Luke in his version of the Gospel itself, uses the information which was
available to him to present the information in the Gospel so that the readers of the Gospel can
state with certainty that Jesus Christ is God himself. The readers also gets a glimpse of the
character of Jesus Christ and how he was in his life. Luke tells the readers in his writings that
Jesus Christ loved everyone and he taught people to love and embrace others instead of
hatred.
Another important feature which the readers can find in the Gospel of Luke is the fact
that the women in the Gospel were given much more importance by Luke than those of the
Gospels of the other disciples of Jesus Christ himself in the Bible himself (Noland:21).
An Introduction to the Letter written to the First Corinthians by Paul
The letter to the First Corinthians, also known as the First Corinthians or 1
Corinthians was one of the epistles which was written by Paul the Apostle and another co-
author by the name of Sosthenes. The letter was addressed by Paul the Apostle to the church

at Corinth. It is believed by a number of experts themselves that Sosthenes actually wrote
down the letter at the instruction of Paul himself. The letter states the solution which was
provided by Paul to the various situations which had risen in the Christian Church at Corinth.
The letter tells the readers about the various solutions which Paul had provided to the
Corinthian Church on the various issues which he had witnesses on his visit to the Corinthian
Church. The contents of the letter tell the readers of the fact that Paul had urged the
uniformity of the beliefs of the people and had propounded upon the doctrine of Christianity
to the people at the church in Corinth itself. Apart from these, the letters also address the
problems of the pagan worship which was still present in the Church during those times and
the divisions of the power within the members of the church itself. These are the issues which
gets special mention in the letter which was written by Paul to the Corinthians in the letter
which he had sent to the church itself (Collins:2016).
Other issues which the readers find in the letter written by Paul to the Corinthians
deals with the themes of immortality and that of marriage between the individuals
themselves. Paul in his letter writes about the concept of the married couples by presenting
the information to the readers that it is important for the married people to satisfy their
spouses just like it is important for the people to satisfy God himself. In such ways, Paul
offers various solutions to the people and the church at Corinth who were facing a number of
problems in those times. All this information would be found in the epistle which was written
by Paul to the Corinthians.

epistle tells the readers to understand their true teachers by the use of their ethics and to
accept the love and the teachings of Jesus Christ himself.
In the First Epistle of John itself, the readers focus on the contents of the epistle itself,
which tells the readers about the fact that an individual should always love, respect and obey
God by using various means. The epistle was mainly written by Paul to combat the concept
of Docetism, which tells the readers that Jesus had arrived on the Earth only as a spirit instead
of being in the human flesh. Instead the epistle tells the readers of the fact that Jesus had
indeed arrived in Earth in human flesh and had sacrificed himself for the sins of the human
beings.
Oher aspects which the First Epistle of John tells the reader that God is genuine and
he indeed loves and respects all his children. Moreover, the readers can also find the epistle
talking about the distinction between the world of Satan and the children of God himself
(Van Der Merwe:69).
An Introduction of The Book of Revelations
The Book of Revelations, also known to the readers about the Revelation of Jesus
Christ, is considered by the readers to be the final book in The New Testament of
Christianity. The book talks about the three different genres, which are considered to be the
epistolary, the apocalyptic and the prophetic.
The Book of Revelation talks to the readers about the subject matter of the various
information which are revealed to the readers through the concept of the three different
genres presented in the novel itself. The reader who has never read the Book of Revelations
can understand the subject matter of the book easily by going through the book itself. This is
what the Book of Revelations talks to the readers about the teachings in the New Testament
itself (Paegels:2013).
