INTRODUCTION
People management means controlling human and organizing their productivity, this is a
business term which clearly means the management human resource in the business
organization. Sometime management of people can be very challenging as they have diverse
belief and come from different background. The manager of business organization have major
responsibility in managing people in the workplace (Storey, 2016). Manager and human resource
department together have the responsibility to manage people and their productivity in the
workplace. People management can be very easy if the staff member are well-trained and have
talent in the workplace. HR plays an important role in managing people, they have duty to bring
easiness in employee working hour by providing them various facility which they wish to
require.
In this report we will discuss current issue faced by manager in managing people which
include lack of trust and support from the employee and lack of training and development of
manager which cause various issues in managing people. Later we will discuss the knowledge,
skills and behaviour required to be an effective manager which include leadership skills and
decision-making skills. Later in this report we will discuss HR process in performance
management. At last, we will provide recommendations.
MAIN BODY
Current issue faced by line manager in management of people:
Manager plays a vital role in the business organization, they are one of the strongest
pillars. I believe managers are heart of business organization, without them, a business can not be
stable enough to survive the market (Bender, et.al., 2018). Manager have responsibility to
manage people and their productivity in the workplace. There are certain issue faced by the line
management of people such as:
Lack of trust and support: lack of support from the team and employee is the biggest issue
faced by managers, employee sometimes do not support the words of manager which make them
feel less valuable. I believe manager have more capacity and ability than a normal employee
because they perform various task all together (Candlin and Crichton, 2019). While performing
their duties and responsibility, a manager sometime get disobeying behaviour from the staff
member, they sometime do not like to support the manager. This type of situation arrive when

the company appoints new manager, these new manager is unaware about the working
environment of the company and often get lack of support from the employee.
Lack of training and development: lack of training is common issue, this means a manager is
not trained enough to manage people in the organization. Lack of training results in failure in
managing people in workplace, I believe that manager need to have proper training before
managing a large sum of people within the workplace (Noe and Kodwani, 2018). As a manger of
the business organization, my first ever duty or responsibility is managed my people. As per me,
a manager should have leadership quality which allow them to become a role model in the eye of
staff member. While getting training a manger should be developing leadership quality.
Lack of right staff: lack of right staff means manager often face challenge with the availability
of right staff. Right staff plays a vital role in stability of business organization, manager get
comfortable with right staff who have sense of understanding and belongingness with the line
manager. I believe that it all starts with the recruitment and selection process, as per me, if the
business have practice of recruiting right people at right place then half of the load of manager
will be reduces. Lack of right people is the major issue faced by line manager in the business
organization.
Diversity and discrimination: discrimination is one of the worst issue faced by manager in
business organization, discrimination disturb the mental stability and reduce the productivity of
manager in the workplace (Heilman and Caleo, 2018). I believe when the manager comes from a
diverse culture they faced various issue and discrimination from their employee. Different
background, belief, taste & preference and other element become issue. Manager find it difficult
to manage people as per their diverse belief. As per me, diversity can be very beneficial for line
manager to manage their people. Line manager face discrimination from the way their work and
the style they adapt to manage the people, as a manager I will be adopting autocratic
management style to manage people.
Knowledge Skills and Behaviours
Planning:
planning in the management function describe the objective and determination of the
organization by which they set their goals and course of action. Planning in the organization
analyse the factor by which organization can manage and effect the environmental condition. For

perfect planning planner should analyse the factor that how company will achieve the objective
of the organization (Marrella, 2019).
There are different types planning in the plans of them organization. Such as;
Strategic planning: strategic planning analyse the facts that this will help the organization in
competitive opportunity for the organization and hep them to analyse the strength, weakness of
the organization also their external factor which include the opportunity or threat.
Tactical planning; this planning include the factor which analyse the planning of at least 2-3
years and design to control according to it.
Operational planning: this determines towards to achieve the goals and objective of the
organization operational planning in short term for example their day to day operation and
manage them.
Example: Tesco is using the strategic planning in their organization for the betterment of the
company.
Good communication:
Effective communication is the essential thing in the organization which is important for the
organization in order to achieve the success and advancement in the market sector by which
organization will have the enough potential to determinate towards their goals. Communication
also make a god relation between the employee and the management of the organization. There's
a diverse way to communicate and transmit the messaged through communication in many ways.
For example Apple uses a communication through broadcast, market iPhones etc. (Radovic
Markovic, M and Salamzadeh, 2018). They use integrated marketing communication strategy in
terms of the achievement and success through various channels. This strategy helps the
organization in order to maintain and make the public relation for the betterment of the
organization. Organization also refer to the social media factor for better communication and
advancement in the organization. This method increase the marketing and sales of the
organization and by which organization gets the more recognition in the market and in the new
customer for the betterment of the organization. This their way to communicate with their
employees and be effective in terms of achieve the success.
Leadership: leadership is the quality by which organization management influence their staff
and personnel to be effective and work accordingly for the betterment of the organization. In
business leadership comes with and effective communication and strategy for the better

implementation of the leadership and leads people to follow them. For example; the Unilever
uses a LGP which is leadership growth profile in their company to establish growth and
diversification in the organization (Kempster, Maak, and Parry, , 2019). LGP is the powerful
tool to use in the company and help them to develop. The tool totally focus on the structure and
management of the organization by which they will easily establish the process and procedure in
the organization. This will help the organization in order to maintain and sustain the growth and
the development by which organization can easily attract the consumer towards them, and they
gain the profitability with the help of effective leadership.
Determine HR procedure and productive performance management
The human resource process helps in deriving productive approach by supporting
management function that derives productive performance by boosting and grows organization
sustainability in desired manner (Liu, Yang and Wu, 2021). This is as follows;
Performance management Review- In order to this, performance management playing key role
through proper structuring and emphasizing performance appraisal. The human resource group
being mediator among functional heads that facilitate authorities and regulations of employees in
productive manner (Gunn, Zwickert and Hilyard, 2021). As this helps in boost performance and
works organization function in systematic manner. By this properly functioning and regulations
is conduct that maintains sustainability growth of business in desired manner. This emphasizes
smooth implementation that derives procedure by reviewing performance management in
respective manner. Through setting expectation raise productiveness through already examining
of expectation that leads business in productive manner. It facilitates growth and smooth
functioning of organization function by properly managed functions and review performance
through which boost performance. Also, conducts positive approach by performing work through
assigning employees duties and derive workers as flexible culture and climate that motivate them
to work in effective manner. This increases growth and opportunities that supports by human
resource by properly functioning of organization function in respective manner. So, through
reviewing observes productive approach by working and raising performance in effective
manner. As this helps in maintaining effective function and boost efficiency in desirable manner.
By providing employees better environment and facilitates growth of opportunities in desirable
manner.

360 Degree Appraisal- In responds to this, it provides feedback by these influence performance,
as individual gets feedback by properly training and growth. The human resource supports by
providing proper feedback through properly training given to employees (Rachmawati and
Widayani, 2021). By this boost performance and conducts sustainability growth of market. It
consists of collecting thoughts, opinions and many others factors. This helps in maintaining
proper function and boost productivity by working function in respective manner. As this derive
right knowledge to assess by providing facility to employees through emphasizing proper
training to them. In order to this, employees who work in organization are free to tell their views,
thought through determining fairness that helps in attaining trustfulness and builds productivity
by smooth functioning of organization. It helps in deriving clear understanding and instructions
through which proper formulation of work is conduct by human resource that raise productivity
and work in smooth functioning that facilitates growth in desired manner. By this organization
achieves their desired goals and boost productivity by effective manner. Though conducting
positive approach by working in flexible manner with proper understanding and communication
that increase productiveness in respective manner (Lu, Zhao and Liu, 2021). Also, derive plan
such as taken into consideration innovation that helps in implementing productive approach by
smooth functioning that conduct through feedback survey in perspective manner. This lead
business by HR supports management and smooth functioning that derives good atmosphere in
desired manner. It helps in deriving productive approach that raise productiveness and increase
sustainability growth.
Recommendation
Enhancement: with respect to all these strategies as well as the orientation of productive and
enhancement is required such that the things would fall into right place. In this regard the
management will have to develop people in a way to orient with all the strategies that are in the
organisation.
Division of duties: in order to make sure that management is fostering the right set of practices
the division of duties will also have to be managed in a way that would orient with the right
amount of deals which are necessary to be inculcated.

CONCLUSION
The entire report concludes upon highlighting the aspects of people management. Through this
report one can easily understand the prospect of people management along with the kind of
strategy that is there. The report brings forth the current issues that are faced by manager in
management of people and the different factors that are falling in regard to its. The knowledge of
these skills and behaviour is also explain in this report along with the goals and course of action.
A strategic planning and tactical planning criteria is brought forth with a good communication
and is also explaining leadership traits and qualities. Several prospects of approaches that would
demonstrate the ideology and performance management review is also created in this report.
