INTRODUCTION
Sentencing is define as punishment which imposed on those personals which have did
something wrong which is illegal or unethical according to the law. To understand this concept
this report has been prepared. It includes the meaning of sentencing and theories through which
various types of punishment has been define m, this report also considered those organization
and communities which will help in controlling the offender activities in England by changing
the mind set and perception of offenders through their skills and punishment imposing
punishment.
TASK1
P1 Discussion of theories of punishment and the purpose of sentencing
Offender management: The term offender management define as the management
process in which personals decide how time during prison and supervision in community has
been managed. I recognized that the purpose of this management is to run those activities and
supervisor culprit in a way so the cancels of offend has been decrease in future. It is used to cut
the crime rate in local area. It will help me to analysis police to work in partnership for reduce
offender case in local communities (Brennan and Dieterich, 2018).
Punishment: It defines as the act of inflict a penalty or cost on personal as the result of doing
wrong actions which are illegal according to ethics. It is imposed on offender.
There are 5 types of theories related with punishment
Deterrent theory
This theory based on the fact that offender gel to punish only sake of it. According this evil will
be returned for evil work without thinking about any consideration. It is further classified into
general deterrence and deterrence theory. Deterrence theory defines that police should give
punishment to offender which will help them to reform or change their mind or become them
educated General deterrence theory is designed to state that punishment must be strict that it
make fear in the mind of offender so that they are not thinking about any crime in future.
Retributive theory: This theory focus on the connect that personals must be punished for their
work they did wrong, although it also state that indivuildual only get arrest when they did

something wrong which break the rules and regulation of ethical law. According to this theory a
personal is considers as an prisoner when
The cost will be given is equal to the complaint case by the special officers.
The personal has knowledge regarding the action and penalties.
Preventive theory
According to this they, if a prisoner repeat the wrong doing and the case for which he already
composed from penalties or punishment is liable for punishment of death, imprisonment. This
theory is total focus on social welfare and they want to perspective the society from criminals
thus punishment of death has been decided. According of modern theory they says that police or
government must focus on those individual who are engender into anti social business activities.
Reformative theory: Other theories are the part of which is basing on classical and non classical
behaviour theories. It is also known as positive they, as focus on that objective of the
punishment should be reformate by offender. According to this theory the main purpose of
punishment is to improvement of offenders. It is a rehabilitative procedure. This approach help ie
to understand how changing the perception of criminal and make them better personal so they
not include do to any wrong act in future and reduce the criminal activity rate (Jolliffe and
Hedderman, 2015).
Purpose of sentencing: In law sentencing is define as the punishment which is imposed on
offended or could be ordered through trial court or in criminal procedure. This is financial
statement. This theory help me to developed knowledge of objective of sentencing is set out
which provides that any criminal court dealing with an offender in respect of their punishment
must have regard to the following purpose of sentencing
Punishment of offenders
The reduction of crime.
The reform and psychoanalysis of offender
Protection of community
Making of repartition by criminal to human being affected by their offence.

P3 Illustration of the community sentences that can be imposed by a court.
As per my knowledge community sentence is also known as alternative sentencing, no
custodian sentence. It can be define as collected name which is related with criminal justice in all
various ways through which courts punish defended which is libel for punishment. They are
punishing not for jail or death but their then these methods. Community sentence is combination
of punishment which is related with community. It is considered more than 13 requirement of
criminal. It cud in concluded , when workers are unpaid 300 hours or removing grown area. It is
related with that offended need for alcohol or drugs fulfil their need. They use alcohol or drugs
to identify the real or analysis the psychology or perceptions of the criminal or offenders they
why they choose the way which hurt public why they decided to done wrong full act which is
illegal according to ethical rule and regulations. Offenders also related with the curfew through
which they get out from any frustration situation. Te main aim of this is to control the behaviour
of criminals and build those activities and run them engaged them into those activities through
which their min set ha b to be changes and they work for easily manner and nee done or engaged
in any criminal activity. I have learnt the way officers deal with offenders. They protect local
community from any of the criminals they need to work for the changing in the scenario and
reduce the criminal rate in UK.
The court only pass the custodial sentence if they feel that the case is serial and not any file or
normal punishment will help in changing the mind of offender towards the world. It is imposed
for protection of public. Following are the requirement of list
Any one not gets payments for the work of 300 hours.
psychoanalysis activities requirement taken activities and instructing.
Starting an event or programme which helps in hanging the behaviour or perception of offender.
Restriction of doing any particular or specific activities.
Obedience to a curfew so it will require offenders who has been in fixed case for certain period
of time (Reidy, Cihan, A. and Sorensen, 2017).
And rule and which system that offender is not able to go any other place.., without permission
of the court.
Requirement of resident so that criminal is only able to stay in residential address.
Restriction to any international tour.
Treatment of mental health of the offender to change his psychology.

A requirement of drug rehabilitation
An alcohol treatment which help offender to getup from addition of alcohol.
If the offender is less than 25 years old then it the rule that personal should go for central board
to for their mantle heath treatment.
In the year of 2017 the community sentences represent 8 % of the offended sentenced.
P4 Investigate the organisations that are involved in the community management of offenders.
Community organization is define as those organization which are established for making
desired changing improvement for community’s health well being and overall functioning. It
considered, all the working regarding work, projects development and empowerment a useful in
build mobilization between communities. I understand that develop and managing community
program , various organization has been included. It included community group, charitable and
non profitable business o government organizations, and federal and local government agencies.
All these organizations area toward to achieve the goal of community. They build strong plan
and policies through which they manage all the case of offender. There main motive is to control
the criminal and illegal activates in local area of Britain and they just want to spread peace in
each are of England. I learnt that offenders maintain is relay hard work but to community are
establish to effected mange all the activities., they are work in chain and they already set up
goals and policies strategies though which they have idea and they get guideline how they can
change the behaviour of culprit and the way they identify the perception of offenders. Their main
motive of establish to us those activities and give punishment to offender though which they can
change the perception of the offender it will help in changeling the behaviour of offenders and
also it will useful in changing the atmosphere of the England in which were the change of illegal
activities criminal activities has been reduced an spared happiness and peace in every area. They
are management in a way through which they have policy and skills to change the behaviour of
offenders (Gillard and Rogers, 2015).

CONCLUSION
This report helps me to enhance my knowledge regarding sentencing and act of investigating and
offender management. I learnt that offence is that type of activity or action which direct or
indirectly affect the public. For management of offenders, government has formulated some rules
and establish some agenise through which they can control the case of criminal activities illegal
activities. There are theories has been developed which explains the way punishment has been
imposed on offender. Many organization, Her Majesty‘s Court and UK tribunal services
Are established and order to manger the entire offender in a way that they able to change
their mind set with influence them and providing environment through which offenders
decided that they not did any wrong activity in future. It will also take help from community
organizations which will work to activities of these goals.
