Research Approach
The chosen research approach is descriptive in nature. The focus of the research will be, to take into
consideration the developments on the status of women in the Middle East. The paper will include a
comprehensive analysis of the existing data and information on the subject. It will also formalize a
survey/questionnaire where multiple choice questions will be asked to women from the Middle East
to understand the conditions that they live in and the social/economic discriminations that they have
to face on a daily basis. The research approach will include a step by step process under which the
data will be collected from primary sources, the information from secondary sources will be
compiled and then the analysis of the theory and practical information gained would be done to
arrive at a suitable conclusion (Nassaji, 2015).
Qualitative/ Quantitative Methodology
The research will consist of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Under the former type
of data collection, a series of face to face interviews with women from the Middle East will be done
with open ended questions to allow them to share details about the problems they have faced and the
varied progressions that have been done over time. Under the quantitative methodology spectrum,
the interviews with multiple women online will be done. The identities of all the women will be kept
anonymous for their own safety and security. Women from all parts of the Middle East will be
approached to also conduct a geographical analysis on the areas that are most affected by
discrimination against women and where the maximum amount of development has been identified
over time (Atmowardoyo, 2018).
Primary Data Collection
The primary data collection will be carried out through the face to face interviews and the
questionnaire. For the face to face interviews, women from Middle East will be approached. Women
from the Middle East background, living in the same city would be given preference for personal
interviews. However, in case there are limited number of women willing to engage in the same then
actions would be taken to organize skype interviews with 4-5 women.
In case of the questionnaire, it will be formalized through the use of an online tool that would allow
women in the Middle East to enter their responses online and share information on the changes that
they would like to see in the social, economic and political areas.

Secondary data collection will be focused on the analysis of academic journals and articles that shed
light on the history of women in Middle East and the discriminations that they have faced over time.
The data will also include a short analysis of the news websites from Middle East and other
authoritative website sources that share news updates on the latest developments with regards to laws
about Women in the Middle East. The theoretical review of the academic sources on discriminations
and developments would help in getting a closer understanding of the changes that can be made over
time in giving women a better future in the region.
