Executive summary

Introduction
Based on the case 5854/19, the investigation was done based on 3 significant crimes such as an
attempted vehicle arson, attempted murder and drug facilitated sexual assault.
Attempted Murder
Within this case, Jamie Wood was the victim who was attempted to murder in Albert Park,
Middlesbrough which occurred in Wood’s vehicle GC18 FTR. While investigating for this
crime, the cloths of the victim will be utilized and to recognize anything that may result in
linking Daniel Mansfield or someone else within the crime by utilizing presumption testing for

Vehicle arson

Discussion
Aims
The aim of the investigation is to disapprove or approve the crimes and identify the cause of
crime based on three major crimes vehicle arson, attempted murder and drug facilitated sexual
assault. The huge number of exhibits are required to be prioritized due to the limitations of cost
and time (Vujić, Commandeur and Koopman, 2016). The scale has been developed by experts to
identify the level of agreements within the court. Moreover, fingerprints can be considered to be
the conclusive evidence and valuable if presented in the court.
Sexual Assault
The first point to prove is that whether Tracey Blenkinsop was sexually assaulted which needs to
be proved with the help of exhibits. It is seen that the intimate swab determines the occurrence of
sexual assault that can be supported with the help of the evidences such as JB26 high vaginal
sample to prove DNA profile and JB16 Black knickers with a tear to the left hand side.
Moreover, JB30 Casual swab proves that sexual assault has been occurred in both anal and

Drug use
For drug use it has been analyzed that JB1 Urine sample will help in identifying the presence of
GHB that helps in making individuals incapacitated. Moreover, swab of rim and cup helps in
conducting DNA test to analyze the possible source of drug smoking.
Attempted murder
The crimes that occurred within the case are related with vehicle GC18 FTR and the vehicle was
set on fire for the process of investigation and to identify if someone else is involved within the
crime by utilizing the exhibits such as suspected blood, iPhone 4S and fingerprint.
