Introduction
Modern managers have become more mobile and they have their main focus on the
decision making procedure of the company they are working for. To achieve the goals set for the
mangers they take the help of the new technological advancements to support their decision
making procedure. Innovation in the new technological advancements in all the spheres of life
has helped the procedure of decision making justifiable with the researched of the appropriate
decision making process to be enforced (Hu 2016). The procedure of decision making by the
managers of the organization is of high value with regards to the procedure of working of the
organization and the goal selection process beforehand (Kennerley et al.2017). the goals set
forward by the managers of the organization are set to work with the working procedure of the
company. Utilizing the goals in a proper manned can be used to directly affect the organizations
working procedure.
Popularity in terms of usage of the tablet computers was introduced to the new modern
technological revolution by the announcement of the first Apple produced tablet iPad in 2010.
Despite the growing popularity, the tablet was set to be for the customer oriented target. The
tablet provided the organization help in the decision making procedure. The strategic use of the
business is a fast growing market. With the implementation of the Apple’s iOS app store
customers were able to install different software which helped in the decision making procedure
of the company. For the managerial use of the tablet there were application which would help the
managers in doing their work correctly. Using the new innovative technology the managers were
able to read documents, and have seamless communication with the departmental employees.
They would push the IT department to make a better product out of the already available device

to make better support access for the managers of the company. As the new innovation is
attracting customers to use the technology of tablet computers, it became a very wide spread use
for the employees including the managers of the company in order to use the technology to
achieve their own business target. With the implementation of the decision support option in the
device the developers were also able to promote newer versions of the software’s for the tablet
like Cognos, tableau and different business objective related software. The developers targeted to
highlight the new mobile decision making software a top priority the managerial demand was
coming from all the levels of the organization. Managers have always have been the top priority
of the organization keeping in mind the business aspect of the company. However the use of
tablets by the mangers has been a topic of argument for the use of tablets for decision making
procedure.
The main objective of this report can be considered into two different parts. The main
discussion is the evaluation of the strategies to be followed for keeping the solution of the
research problem in the domain of information system. Taking into account and analyzing the
information system data using the applied research methodology. Synthesizing and
communication the information system research to inform the business decision with the practice
of the system usage. Giving more limelight on the topic would put forward the ways in which the
managers of the organization will be using the tablet devices to make decision and why putting
such decision making procedure should be given more emphasis on the technological aspect of
the working environment.

Section 1 – Critical Review
The focus of the research study is to study the procedure and the capability of the
decision making procedures followed by the managers of the organization. It is not the question
of why the managers use the tablets for the decision making procedure, but it is mainly why they
require this. To conduct the research the TTF theory has been taken into consideration rather
than using the TAM theory (Dell et al 2016). TTF has the ability to offer the base for which the
study can be characterized by the manager and the technology that is the use of tablet like the
availability of mobility and the multi touch interface and by doing multiple decision making
tasks which can be classified as managerial decision making tasks. For the meeting room
environment it has been found that using a tablet shows more professional expertise than using a
mobile device and an easier device to carry compared to the laptop. Reading out the agenda of
the meeting or looking up of some kind of information related to the meeting can be done using
the tablet. The tablet being smaller in size than the laptop is helpful to be used and carried around
in the hand without putting too much pressure on the employee. Tablets has been seen a much
more easier and professional use of technology in many formal meetings either with clients or a
departmental meeting (Bogacz 2017). The manager is forced to use the tablet when his personal
device is away from their primary location of work.
The theories which can be used to fulfill and explain the concept can be mainly brought
down into three major categories:
1. Characteristic of a tablet device: the main usable feature of the tablet which is vital for the
contribution of a managerial decision making procedure. The different prospect which can be
taken into consideration are the physical characteristics which can be classified as portability,
adaptability and use of network connectivity. The characteristics also include the features of

the application, user interface design and the effective function ability of the software
(Fetherstonhaugh et al.2016).
2. Characteristics of the use of the managerial decision making task: it mainly revolves around
the prospect of decision making procedure that the managers follow which comprises of the
characteristics like time critical management, mobility of the decision, dependence on the
management of the organization and the strategic use of the nature of the decision being
taken (Bogacz el al. 2016).
3. Managerial characteristics: characteristics of the managers from the personal point of view
includes the demographic related attributes and the expertise level in using a computer as
well as the level of managerial experience in working for the company (Marshall el al.2016).
The use of the tablets in the decision making procedure includes in a meeting room, while
using the communication method for communication with the employees at home or at the
office. The meeting rooms and the residential homes are the most common place of use of the
tablet for decision making procedure. For the meeting room environment it has been found that

laptop or the desktop is redundant if there is the availability of the tablet usage. The access of the
information on a remote location should be possible for the use of the working environment.
They would require network access on their tablets and the availability of the files on any device
they are using. There should be synchronization of all the data that they use on all the devices
they are using. This would be necessary for the managers to perform their decision making
process. The application which are being used by the organization is of the web based
application. These software’s and applications require a good wireless network connection and
the Wi-Fi is the best option available for the disposition from the organization (Zeleny 2017).
The tablet is mainly targeted to improve the portability criteria of the device. The device
can be accessed from any place and data can be gathered and stored for alter access. All though it
has been found that many of the managers already use the device for the decision making
procedure but the use of such a device for the procedure is still unknown. In the area of research
for the paper the title is the topic (Brans and Vincke 2016). The most common place to use the
tablet computers by the managers has been found to be the places apart from the work location of
the mangers and the home (Zhang 2016). The use of formal application on the tablets has been
preferred by many of the managers. The managers has noted that the use of other pdf file readers
and email readers are more of a backward using procedure (Ho el al.2017). This aspect has
drawn a line between the use of the tablet and the use of the application in the form of decision
making procedure.
Although the managers has agreed that the adaptation of the tablet applications with the
needs related to the situation at their workplace the desirable features of the application s needs
to be met correctly. This is due to fact that most of the managers use the device for the decision

making procedure (Guo and Conitzer 2016). As a result of which the mangers might think that
the decision they take needs to be in accordance with the applications they are using in their
device (Brans and Vincke 2016). The mangers use their tablet device in order to identify the
different problems in the organization and to find the best available remedy at their disposal.
They use the web browser in order to find the best available decision (Su, Tzeng and Hu 2016).
Apart from the web browser there is an array of other applications which the manager use for
making their decision as appropriate as possible for the organization. The most cmmon
applications used are spread sheet, email and document viewer and an application which would
help them to do video chat (Dell et al. 2016). Other uses refer to the use of the device for reading
the agenda of the meeting they are about to attend or to find information related to the meeting
they are currently overlooking. They also use a cloud based storage for saving their files which
can be accessed from anywhere they are working (Ho el al.2017). Apart from using the device to
take decisions they can also be used to support the decisions being taken (Kennerley 2017).
Using of the mobile devices at different geographical locations while the managers are in motion
states that with the advantages of the technological devices there comes some drawbacks. The
managers tend to take advantage of this system and try to move around and work at the same
time. The decisi0on which are being taken by the managers play vital role in the upbringing of
the organization (Wright, P.M. and McMahan 2017). The managers are usually concerned about
the bulk size of the laptops and prefer the use of a smaller device to carry around.
