INTRODUCTION
In organisations, the business functions are considered as in internal behaviour as these are
very essential for the production of products and service. The business functions are carried out
by a company and enterprise, they divide its support function and core functions. It is set of those
activities that are performed by business management which is initiated by the information,
business events and commitment, procedure an output etc. different types of business contain
different function in order to run their operational activities efficiently (Kumar, 2018). In this
study, John is a 21 year young boy having a little work experience and won a lottery for £10
million. So, he decide to buy a company that is (IOM Electronics Ltd) to run himself. On this
basis, the report will include business functions such as marketing, finance, production, research
and development and HR function. It will also include different skills that require to operate the
business function.
Functional area in the business organisation
An organisation has several function that are very helpful to run its business smoothly.
These functions are mentioned below:
Marketing function- It is an essential function as it promote the goods and services in
market and make sure availability of potential customer for their business. This function
has contain numerous roles such as understand the customer's requirement or need and
make efforts to meet these demand by offering quality product that has the ability to satisfy
those needs. This functions is helpful to develop a pricing strategy in order to capture the
market share during competition. This function create new business strategies to spread the
awareness about company's product and services through advertising and community
events etc (Ladyshewsky and Taplin, 2017).
Production function- This is the main function in the organisation that is concern for the
production of goods and services. This function act as a relationship between an inputs of
the productive services time's per units and outputs of the product time's per unit. It
address the allocative efficiency in use of the factor inputs within production and resulting
distribution of the income to those element. Production manger of a company is
answerable for overseeing the day to day operational activity of business.

reward workers by measuring their work performance and productivity.
Finance function- This is most significant function by which all business activities are
conducted. It is related to the accounting as it involve planning, obtaining and the
managing of company's funds. This is responsible for the security of financial resources as
it allocate funds to different function within the organisation, so that they can complete
their functional activity related to their work. This function perform many critical task such
as financial statement, managing cash flow and budgeting etc. the finance manager in a
company plan both the long term and short term financial requirement and analyse the
affect that borrowing will have on financial well- being of a company. it play a major role
in the organisational success (Martínez-Arroyo, 2018).
Research and development function- This activity is untaken by the organisation to
develop and introduce their new product. R&D consider as a valuable tool to grow and
improve a business. This function make enable the company to launch a new product or
service in market by adding some innovation with a motive of enhancing company's
bottom line. This function lead innovation in a business in term of new service or new
product, improved process and different way to make interaction with customers. All these
innovation can be result in a greater profitability by lowering cost. The innovation is a
useful method to grow an organisation or business.
Customer services function- Under this function, the company concern about that why
people should buy its product and services. It is an act to support and advocate for the
customers in their use, optimization, discovery and troubleshooting of a given product and
services. In this function, company create and formed effective marketing campaign to
spread their message in a large audience. They also provide an excellent customer services
by meeting the customer's expectations.

to have in a finance's employee.
