1) In the year 2008, Institute of medicine (IOM) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
(RWJF) had initiated a two-year program in order to fulfil the requirements to evaluate and
convert the nursing occupation. There were four messages that were outlined in the IOM,
which structured the approval in the report. The messages are as follows (Institute of
Medicines, 2019):
The nurses must exercise and practice their training and education- The IOM report
suggest recommendations to different stakeholders stating that the nurses can exercise
and practice their training and education and they can therefore adopt the best practice
and also incorporate it in their daily clinical practice. They can develop and enhance
their capabilities and skills that is required to deliver quality of care and safety.
The nurses must attain higher degree of training and education by a developed
education organization that will eventually promote and motivate continuous

learn and acquire high clinical skills associated with critical thinking, case management,
