Report
AI Summary
This report examines the profound impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on the goods transport industry. It begins with an overview of IoT and its benefits in logistics, including real-time data collection for route optimization and shipment tracking. The report then explores brainstorming ideas, discusses ethical and regulatory considerations, particularly in the context of Australian rules, and analyzes the disruptions caused by IoT implementation. It covers aspects like data collection, cross-border data flow, and the challenges of maintaining a static architecture in a dynamic industry. The report also includes a video script discussing IoT's applications and benefits in goods transport, such as traffic updates and weather forecasting. Finally, a bibliography of relevant sources is provided.

2IMPACT OF IoT IN GOODS TRANSPORT INDUSTRY
Overview of IoT & Goods Transport Industry:
IoT (Internet of Things) is one of the most prominently adopted technology in the
current scenario because of the benefits offered by it. It collects real time data and take
necessary action according to its programming or notifies the users to make the necessary
change in the systems installed within the IoT network. It has proved its efficiency in
different sectors and one of them which has evaluated the benefit of IoT and has started its
service is the goods transport industry. The role of IoT in the goods logistic industry has
proved to be significant because the former assists the latter in saving resources while
offering more effectiveness. The subject (IoT) assists the selected industry by selecting the
most appropriate route by collecting real-time data through the internet making the process
more efficient & effective. The suitable route enables in saving the expenditure in the fuel &
other transport necessities. Additional benefit such as keeping track of the shipment are also a
part of the advantages that IoT is capable of offering to the goods transport industry. Hence, it
can be emphasised to state that the possibilities of advantage that IoT is capable of offering to
the goods delivery industry are limitless and it is witnessing a major surge everyday along
with the development of the former.
Brainstorming:
IoT in the goods transport industry will have prominent impact. The implementation
will make the internal operations of the goods transport industry simple. The adoption will
make the communication and transfer of data among different departments such as accounts,
delivery vehicle, customer support and other department efficient & effective.
The discussed technology has its prominence in different industry and adopting IoT in
the goods transport industry will prove to be of prominence advantage for the manufacturing
industry because the latter is in always needs different resource for the manufacturing process

for which they outsource the transport process. The IoT in manufacturing industry can keep
track of the goods transport with appropriate credentials from the goods transport industry.
The integration of the IoT with cloud (together known as CoT (Cloud of things)) can
offer much more efficient services to the goods transport industry. It can assist in mitigating
the challenges associated with the logistics industry.
Regulations & Ethics:
The impact on the transport vehicles and associated factors have been taken in
consideration to discuss the following sections. The ethics and regulation of the IoT differ
according to the region of deployment. The European Union prevents the sharing of data
outside their geographical domain while US allows the data flow, is one of the example
different ethics & regulations. The deemed ethics & regulations have taken consideration of
the Australian rules & ethics. The regulations are decorated as per the Lawrence Lessig’s
regulation.
Norms: The IoT norm of the Australia restricts excessive collection of data. It would restrict
the IoT in logistics to collect data that can be used to prediction of the traffic movement and
in the process of simplifying the IoT’s process. The collection of personal data without
consent is also restricted under the deemed norm. Additionally, the restriction of cross
boundary data flow restricts the logistics industry to make adequate use of the IoT.
Markets: The competitive market and mass adoption of the IoT has led to a massive surge in
the customer and transportation data. Though, the system has use of only specific data but it
had to filter all the available data to identify that particular data. Additionally, the restriction
of the data across borders develop constraints for the cross-border market and IoT
implications.

4IMPACT OF IoT IN GOODS TRANSPORT INDUSTRY
Architecture: The logistics industry is a volatile market that is motion that is the key
component of the logistics industry is the vehicles that are used to transport the goods. Hence,
it is very difficult to have an architecture that is able to cope up with the changing positions
of the IoT associated components. The low connectivity zones, restriction on cross-border
flow of IoT data and other factors cannot cope up with a static architecture and act as
constraint for the IoT in the goods transport industry.
Norm: The ethical & social constraints of the IoT in the goods transport industry are limit
less. Keeping the data encrypted and hence safe in IoT based goods transport industry is not
feasible which develops the scenario of data leakage that leads to threat of privacy & security
of the stakeholders (both internal and the customers). The discussed challenge act as ethical
constraint for the IoT in the goods transport industry.
Disruption:
The objects that are part of the deemed process IoT system and the data store of the
organisation. The activities that are taking place in the deemed process are the placement of
the order, shipment deployment process and the delivery of the shipment. The actors part of
the process is the buyer and the organisation. The decision point in the shipment delivery
process is the guiding and tracking of the shipment delivery process where the shipment is
guided by the IoT through real-time data.
The process that takes place in parts, the first sub-process or part of the process is the
placement of the order where the buyer places the order to the IoT logistics organisation. The
logistics organisation receives the order and prepares for deployment. The preparation
includes the association of the delivery module (truck, ship or other vehicle modes). Then the
execution point arrives where the shipment is deployed and the IoT keeps track of the
delivery vehicle and guides it according to the changing scenario. The deemed process is

Internet of things (IoT) has left its impact on different field such as education, homes,
industry and numerous others “I hope it can help us in our exams… Oh Wait… It is… It is
my college assignment”.
One of the field is goods transport industry or logistics which has witnessed major change in
since the introduction of the IoT in its operations. The real-time data collection is a major
perk for the goods and transport industry because of its core operation is transport of goods.
Transport of goods is a kinetic job and IoT can be of great assistance.
Imagine, there is a traffic jam on the road ahead and you get to know about it.
“It is like oracle telling your prophecy”.
You can take alternative route or be prepared with lots of snacks to tackle the jam.
It can also forecast weather situation of your destination and the route which can prove to be
lifesaving in harsh weathers.
Pre intimation of change of destination, GPS system for route and ample other benefits. It
offers all.
That is not the sky for IoT in the goods and transport industry. The organisational operations
also earn a major boost with assistance of the IoT.
“So, when are you associating with IoT.”
“I know I am as soon as I get good Grades for this video.”
So please like, share and comment.
Thank you.
