AI Summary
This report provides a summary of three research papers exploring the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare. The first paper by Natarajan et al. suggests innovations in smart healthcare practices, including interfacing devices to IoT for applications like glucose monitoring and blood pressure tracking. The second paper by Alex et al. describes the development of a modern healthcare IoT platform using Android, emphasizing remote health monitoring and intelligent medicine boxes. The third paper by Kalarthi discusses the development of a smart healthcare system using IoT, focusing on real-time health information and enhanced accessibility to healthcare services through a remote health monitoring system. All three papers highlight the potential of IoT to improve patient care and healthcare efficiency.

Internet of Things (IoT) in Healthcare
Summary 1
The aim of the paper by K. Natarajan and fellow authors is to suggest measures to innovate the smart
health care practices and operations for enhancement of the health condition of the patients. In the
previous works of research, there are disadvantages highlighted as inability to record health based
information and shorter area of coverage using RFID technology. The authors have proposed
interfacing of devices to IoT device to develop applications, such as glucose level sensing,
electrocardiogram monitoring, blood pressure, body temperature and oxygen saturation monitoring.
Smart medical service, medical resource management and sensor data collecting are the three layers in
the network architecture that will allow collection and storage of medical data through the sensors
which will be made available on the healthcare app for the users (Natarajan, Prasath and Kokila,
2016).
Summary 2
The aim of the paper by Alex and fellow authors is to describe the development of a modern
healthcare IoT platform using Android framework. Currently, there is a lot of burden on the hospitals
and medical centres due to the huge number of patients. Also, the health condition of the patients may
suffer poorly as a result. The proposed application will include an intelligent medicine box attached
with the sensors enabled with wireless connectivity and mobile application that will allow the patients
and health care professionals to stay connected and with allow remote health monitoring. The
medication history will be automatically updated and an LED light will alert the patient in case of
selection of an incorrect medicine for betterment of the patient’s health (Alex et al., 2016).
Summary 3
The author, Zankhana Mehul Kalarthi, aims to describe the concepts of IoT and smart health care and
the measures which can be used for the development of smart health care system using IoT. There are
numerous health conditions that the patients suffer from and there are certain areas that do not receive
adequate healthcare facilities. The proposed solution will provide the patients with real-time health
information and will enhance the accessibility to healthcare services. An IoT-based remote health
monitoring system has been proposed that comprises of three parts as data acquisition, cloud system
and real time health portal. The system will reduce the paperwork and will allow the patients to
remotely monitor their health condition along with continuous connectivity with their healthcare
expert (Kalarthi, 2016).
