Abstract
IoT is based upon a host of applications and technologies that connect devices with
internet and various systems in order to manage data at one platform. The seeds of this
technology are already present with the use of various applications and automated systems
and it is continuously rising as one can manage this technology from any location. This
research topic generates significant importance from various perspectives as every enterprise
uses IoT applications and system and it is also necessary to explore IoT structure and use in
mining. The key objective of this exploration is to analyse main factors of IoT and identify
the role of IoT on the field of mining. The IoT will have billion impact on the world mining
by 2025 as per the report generated by CSIRO (Chen et al, 2015). Using IoT in mining brings
out several benefits such as automate maintenance and machine operations, process
standardization, improve visibility and traceability, shifting towards predictive maintenance
from preventive maintenance and getting used to real-time data and analytics (Kolias et al,
2017). Various research procedures used in this research paper comprises of secondary
collection of data, qualitative research design and content analysis. This research is intended
towards significant of IoT in mining and its related problem. Considering all the study, it can
be said that everything is getting faster with the idea of increasing communication between
the manufacturer and the customer using IoT was expanded on. In last, various organisation
leveraging IoT to drive bottom-line growth and do big transformations more efficient and
automated including allowing people to work remotely.
Keywords – Mining, IoT, automation and systems and so on.
