Introduction
IoT is a term referred to connect multiple devices within a network over the internet which
allows to share, collect and retrieve data from any device across the world. It is known as the
Internet of Things. It was developed by the RFID members in the year 1999 and with the
development of new technologies, it becomes one of the important parts of our day to day life. It
consists of our day to day life and devices involved in our day to day life such as mobile phone,
computers, tablets, etc. This new concept made a revolutionary change due to which work
efficiency and productivity become very high along with very effective communication (Patel &
Patel, 2016).
Here, in this report, IoT technology and its implementation has been explained to configure a
new branch office with new smart equipment. All these devices have been configured with the
internet to control their functions in a smart way. The main aim of the report has to increase the
knowledge of an individual in the field of networking and their effective implementation.

Part 1
Melbourne Smart Office Design
Figure 2: Server registration
Adding IOT Physical Registration Server on which smart devices will get registered.
This IOT Registration server is configured for Melbourne Smart office branch.
All IOT devices will get registered to this Registration Server and all the devices will be
accessible remotely.
Figure 3: Server IP configuration
As shown above, configuring the IPV4 address for Registration Server.
All the devices need to configure for this address to get registered on server.
4
Document Page
All the devices will be accessible remotely via a Wireless Network connection.
Figure 4: Server access settings
As shown above, configuring the Username & Password as per the assignment.
Username & Password can only be Student ID. Hence same has been configured.
By turning ON the Server the services of Registration Server will get start.
Username and Password would be same for all the smart devices.
Figure 5: Wireless router 1
Adding Wireless Router in the network.
User would be able to access the Registration Server via this wireless connection.
Users are required to connect with SSID first, only then user will be able to access the smart
devices & Server as well.
5

Figure 6: Wireless router settings
As shown above, SSID “IOT-Network” has been configured for 1-2.412 GHz channel.
Users will connect to this SSID by using TKIP encryption.
This SSID has WPA2-PSK authentication, so users are required to enter Password to get the
wireless connection with the network.
By using such Authentication & Encryption algorithm, basically, we are making the Wireless
Network more secure & unbreakable.
Figure 7: Wireless tablet
As shown above, Adding the Wireless Tablet to Melbourne Office Branch.
This Wireless Tablet will allow user to access the Registration Server & to Login/SignUp.

This Wireless tablet will also allow user to access the Smart devices remotely.
Users are required to Sign Up for Registration Server first then user would be able to log in
to server & to manage the IOT devices.
Figure 8: Wireless tablet configuration
As shown above, user is trying to connect with the SSID by entering Password.
User needs to select WPA2-PSK authentication along with TKIP encryption which is
required to get a connection with the secure Wireless Network of Melbourne Smart Office.
After entering the right credential, User will get connect to SSID and would be allowed to
access the Registration Server and the IOT smart devices remotely.

Figure 9: Smart Door configuration
Adding & enabling SSID on Smart-Door.
By using same password, this smart device will get connected to WIFI.
After building the successful connection with SSID, Smart-Door would be accessible over a
secure WIFI network.
