Report
AI Summary
This report examines the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the agricultural sector, addressing the challenges of declining production and inefficiencies. It identifies key problems such as lack of education, inadequate equipment, and ineffective monitoring, and explores how IoT technologies can provide solutions. The report highlights the use of sensors, drones, and remote management systems to improve crop yield, optimize resource allocation, and address issues like climate change and pest control. It also provides an overview of the report's structure, referencing sources that support the analysis of current farming practices and the implementation of IoT methodologies. The report aims to demonstrate how IoT can revolutionize farming practices, leading to increased efficiency and sustainable agricultural production.

Introduction to the problem domain:
The agricultural sector of the world is weakening which had a direct impact of the yield of
production. The growth and the efficiency of the farming capability and production output is
decreasing due to the ineffective inventory monitoring, using unlimited insecticides and
pesticides, no attention towards the livestock, and many others reasons. The use of
Information and communication technology (ICT) and Internet of things (IOT) helps in
facilitating the agricultural production. The agricultural farming is equipped with various
problems like:
Problems Description
Lack of knowledge and education The farmers are not having sufficient amount of
education for improving the yield and production of their
farm
Lack of equipment The farmers are not having effective equipment for
tilling and ploughing their field (Verdouw, Wolfert, and
Tekinerdogan, 2016)
Lack of technology The farmers are not able to implement effective
technology for improving the production of field
Lack of ineffective monitoring of
stock and inventory management
system
The inefficient monitoring of the stock results in the
large amount of crop wastage
Lack of measuring the amount of
insecticides and pesticides present
in the soil
The high amount of insecticides and pesticides can
adversely affect the growth of the crop production and
agricultural yield
Lack of analysing the presence of
animals
The animals and other wild animals can affect the
growth of the crop production (Stoces, and Vanek,
Masner, and Pavlik, 2016)
Measuring the seed quality The production of the yield depends upon the quality of
the seed used in the sowing process to get an effective
farm production. The poor quality seeds can result in the
poor quality of the crop production (Nayyar, and Puri,
2016)
Ineffective irrigation system The supply of more water to the agricultural field can

results in the damage of soil fertility and plant growth
Inefficient in analysing the
climate change
No preventive measure can be proactively installed for
analysing the damage caused to the field through climate
change
Structure of the Report:
The report is prepared for analysing the problem domain of the current practices in farming
and the implementation of the IOT methodology for improving the production of the crop
yield. The inefficiency of the farming production can be resolved effectively by
implementing and using the IOT system in monitoring and managing the equipment for the
growth of the crop production yield. The implementation of the sensor technology, drone
system, remote equipment management system, and others helps in improving the farming
practices.
