1PLAN TO MANAGE AND CONTROL QUALITY FOR THE PROJECT DELIVERABLES
In these global competitive market any newly implemented project needs to meet its
objectives, aim and at the same time quality (Abdullah et al., 2015). The nominated project for
this assignment is Information System (IS) implementation in a United States based retain
company. The steps that are to be followed to improve and manage the quality of a project are as
follows:
In order to plan the quality of Information System a quality baseline should be developed
first for examining the feedback of consumers, survey and emails (Wagner et al., 2014). Then
based on consumers demand the quality outline must be prepared. Quality data should be
collected accordingly to conduct a gap analysis. Not only project manager but team members are
responsible to brainstorm.
For improving the quality of Information System developed in Retail system the steps
that are to be followed are as follows:
Design of the quality management plan
Inspection on early quality condition
Producing quality at the needful sources
Ensure that all team members are following the quality measures
Finding the root cause
Understanding quality standards and qualifying the suppliers
Maintenance of all technical equipments
Quality management strategies
Finalize the details of the project: At the project initiation phase, the project manager
and the team members need to finalize the project details considering changes and success

criteria for the Information System. It is the responsibility of the project manager to create
project status report to track the current condition and operational errors of the project.
Advantages
Help to accomplish the project within estimated time and budget maintaining the
quality
Change management plan will be easier to implement due to timely status
tracking and updates
Disadvantages
The overall cost structure can be fluctuated
Managing project risk to avoid scope creep: This is the other strategy that a project
manager requires to consider. Before identifying target audience the possible risks that may
interrupt the success of this specific project must be identified (Heldman, 2018). After
identifying the risks those are to be analyzed and prioritized. Accordingly potential risk
management strategies should be implemented to maintain the quality of the IS implementation
project.
Advantages
Chances of risk occurrence will be reduced
Uncontrolled project growth can be avoided
Disadvantages

If proper mitigation strategies are not implemented then major challenges can be
raised
Establishing velar communication: The project manager should establish clear open
communication while interacting with the project team members. Open communication provides
an independent platform to the members where the project team members can share their ideas
and creativity with the rest of the members (Mir & Pinnington, 2014). Therefore, the project
manager needs to develop or create an open communication strategy to make interaction among
the team members and also with the managers.
Advantages
It will create a friendly working environment
Help to improve the quality of the IS due to knowledge and skills sharing
Disadvantages
If the communication norms, policies and procedures are not accurately followed
by the project manager and team members then internal conflict may occur among
the project team members.
During project initiation and execution period the project details need to be finalized
by the project manager and the activities needs to be run according to the quality
requirements (Shaari et al., 2015) The project risk management approach should have
to be adopted by the project manager at the project planning phase. Whenever the
project team members will attend meeting they are required to follow open
communication approach.

4PLAN TO MANAGE AND CONTROL QUALITY FOR THE PROJECT DELIVERABLES
Considering the knowledge performance Indicator (KPI) the company objectives are
required to be prepared by the project manager of the Information system
implementation project. In order to build quality standards for the retail company
should consider the following steps:
Conceptualizing team mindset for developing and designing long term sustainable
quality for the Information System (Nicholas & Steyn, 2017)
Ethical approach adoption and employee strong process discipline needs to be
considered for making sure that the quality of the Information system is all being
maintained
The developed standards will positively impact the effectiveness and efficiency of future
of the project (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). Scope, cost and time are the three different constraints
will be maintained accurately after consideration of the project quality standards.
Knowledge and skills are the two main factors that should be well maintained. The
barriers in terms of lack of skill and knowledge should be diminished rather overcome to make
sure that the project is capable to obtain long term success.
