Sub: Current issues in the system of Criminal Justice
Dear Mr. Blasio
This letter is being written in order to bring to your notice the problems being
encountered in the criminal justice system taking out of the present scenario. You are
incredibly committed to ensure that New York is one of the safest and secure cities of the
world as far as prevention of crime is concerned. As result, you signed the Criminal Justice
Reform Act of 2016 thereby resulting in the reduction with regard to arrest, confinement and
detention accordingly. Such legislation also implies the reformative aspects of punishments
as far as the reduction of stringencies are concerned accordingly. It is also imperative form
the Criminal Justice Reform Act of 2016 that for minor kinds of offences, civil summons
would be issued to the offender instead of criminal summons. As a result, the scope of arrest
would be reduced accordingly. In these aspects, you have made sure that there should be
equality and fairness with regard the aspect pertaining to criminal justice three by leading to
the application of the concept related to egalitarianism accordingly (Berman and Aubrey
100). It would also lead to the changes in the system pertaining to the carrying out of duties
by the police as far as the communities across the City of New York are concerned
accordingly taking account of the steps and measures undertaken by the New York Police
Department accordingly. You have also made sure that by the virtue of the Criminal Justice
Reform Act of 2016, the facts and circumstances of the case concerned must be analysed in a
proper and appropriate manner before making any kind of decision pertaining to
imprisonment. As a result, the rights of a prisoner would be taken into consideration
accordingly as far as the merits of the case are concerned (Oette 134). Additionally, your
decision to sign the Criminal Justice Reform Act of 2016 also implies the aspect related to the
reduction of complexities with regard to the system of criminal justice accordingly there by
resulting in the reduction of cases to be filed in criminal courts accordingly as far as the
simplification of the criminal procedure is concerned. The aspect pertaining to imprisonment

as a result of drinking alcohol in a sensible manner has also done away with as a result of the
implementation and execution of the Criminal Justice Reform Act of 2016. The aspects
pertaining to equality and fairness are also implied as a result of the Criminal Justice Reform
Act of 2016 accordingly with reference to the principles of natural justice. The Criminal
Justice Reform Act of 2016 would also imply the elimination of racial discrimination
accordingly as many coloured people have been imprisoned for petty offenses accordingly,
especially the ones who had no financial means to pay for their bail as far as release at the
earliest is concerned accordingly. As a result, correctional measures are being undertaken
accordingly as far as criminal reform is concerned. The police would have an important role
to play in this regard along with the courts as far as the final decision over the offense is
concerned accordingly. It is recommended that the reforms pertaining to criminal justice
should be in such a manner that there should be proper and appropriate counselling for minor
offenses which do not affect the wider society in general accordingly. It would also lead to
humanitarianism as far as the welfare of people who have committed minor offenses is
concerned accordingly.
Kind Regards,
XYZ
