INTERNET AS AN ISSUE OF SOCIAL EQUITY

INTERNET AS AN ISSUE OF SOCIAL EQUITY
The Internet is an advanced mobile network which is used to interconnect two
or more peripheral devices. The use of the internet is growing very fast because many
customers use smart mobile phones and they use internet connectivity to communicate
with their friends (Altinay, Dagli, & Altınay, 2017). The use of the internet is a very
serious problem for social equity because all people cannot adopt this technology due to
the lack of money by which poor people are not able to adopt this technology.
Information and communication technology developed internet services across the
world and they also focus on the equity of access (Ebersold, & Glass, 2016). For
example, the ITU of united state identified that internet is one of the most advanced
models to achieve global access to information and communication technologies. The
Internet is a very common issue in the field of social equity because it increases the
various education sectors, empowering communities, and it also increases the economy
grew by which many users does not their benefits (Jaeger, 2015).
It is researched that many users cannot take profit of internet connectivity
because they have not enough money to purchase facility of information technology.
Educators and government argued on this topic and they observed that many of schools
educators take advantages of the education tools or information technologies and they
use internet to interconnect students with their teachers (Moja, Luescher, & Schreiber,
2015). But the main problem with this technique is that all students cannot use adopt
computer and mobile devices that support internet networks. For example, in a college
teacher use computer and other peripheral devices to teach and they also provide
laboratory to learn new things but the main point is that some of students have laptop
or smart devices by which they can learn from home or internet and rest of students are
not able to gain internet services (Resta, Laferrière, McLaughlin, & Kouraogo, 2018).
Access to the internet connectivity can improve the quality of education and it can
reduce the overall cost of colleges but it also increase challenges and issue of equity. It is
researched that the one-third of Australians are very poor and less educated in which
the rate of uneducated female are more than the rate of educated male. They believe on
that this technology is making their life very worse as compare to better and one-third
of the population in Australia think that benefits of the internet are out of reach (Wu,

Ma, & Yu, 2017). They also think that these kinds of communication technologies also
reduce the chance of their jobs in the market.
Therefore people should reduce the issue of social equity by providing internet
access to all users. If information technology reduces the cost of internet networks and
other peripheral devices then many students can purchase internet services by which
they can increase the quality of education. Many consumers use computer devices and
communication servers to communicate with other and if they share their internet
technologies with their friends and colleagues then the problem of social equity can be
resolved.
