Sports have been acting as a business process in the recent years. The main aspect that is
considered is that the revenue that is generated due to sports have been immense since the last
decade. Information Technology has been becoming an inter disciplinary partner of all kind of
sports. Sports psychology, sports statistics maintenance, medication processes are the few
processes that are heavily impacted due to the implementation of IT in Sports. This report
discusses about the impacts of Information Technology in Sports. Proper discussion regarding
the ethical implications of implementing Information Technology inn Sports.
Impact of IT in sports
Information Technology finds its usage in bit indoor and outdoor sports. Indoor sports are
the section that is more affected than the field of outdoor sports. The major tasks that are
performed by Information Technology in the outdoor sports includes updating the health status
of the players (Zhang 2017). In this case it is seen that the players go through several medication
process before qualifying for the games. In this process they are tested to limits and hence their
health is also put under test. The data that are generated in the testing phase are stored in the
database. These data are transacted with all the higher officials for commencing of the project.
This is the one of the major reason that the functioning process of the sports persons get affected.
This process ensures the time that is taken in conveying the data which has been collected is
