7. Why do we use CIDR in the world today
The classless inter-domain routing is a fundamental of the variable length subnet masking known
as the VLSM. It provides an opportunity for a network to be divided into multiple subnets. It
also provides an opportunity to find a network size more suitable for neighboring wants. 1
The CIDR explains the IP address system that enhances the IP addresses allocating. It helps in
the replacement of the previous scheme founded by the A, B, and C classes. The system has
enabled the IPv4 life extension and the sluggish development of steering board.
Practical application
Since the CIDR is foundation-based subnet masking on variable length. It allows to specify
arbitrary length prefixes, making it more powerful than the previous system. On the CIDR, the IP
addresses consist of two sets of estimates. The networking code is written mostly in the form of
a prefix like 192.255.255. 255 as normal Internet address. The next section shows the prefix
showing, for example, the range of digits in an address /12, eventually; the domain of the CIDR
IP is 192.255.255/12.
