Current career aspirations in IT sector
As the title suggests itself that my career plan is to become a consultant in the IT sector
operating across the nations. I am a logical and technical person who enjoys all things that is
related with the computers and software so it is quite evident that a job in the IT field will be
satisfying me. Throwing light on the above-mentioned discussion it can be said that one of
the main elements for an IT industry career is getting perfect education. When individuals are
getting started in the IT careers they will be generally starting with the entry-level positions.
I aspire to work in the firms of management software, consultants, as well as systems houses
within large manufacturers with regards to the computing equipment, or occasionally
internally in the main industrial organizations. Common job tasks IT consultants do which I
see as an important part of my career goals and aspirations consist of the following:
- Analysing the IT requirements within the firms and give objective and independent
advice
- May run some facilities for the clients
- Advising on the operational efficiency and the strategic planning
- Training the staffs for the new systems
- Developing, designing as well as testing the new systems
However, I would like to mention that the part of my career aspirations is gaining growth
for the resources. It simply means enhancing my resources along with knowledge for
growing as a professional, job satisfaction, better salary, experience for instance, meeting
with new people, learning about various cultures.
It can be said that accomplishing this particular goal will take time since I am doing my
Master’s. It is quite challenging and the technical aspiration though I am very much

passionate towards it as it is my dream and after that I want to have my own software
company with a small group of hardworking passionate professionals and I see myself as
the CEO of this firm.
The skills that I will be requiring in terms of aspiring to be a consultant in the IT sector
are as follows: Communication skills, interpersonal skills, database knowledge,
networking skills, team working skills, leadership quality, confidence when serious
decisions are made, excellent organizational skills for managing the heavy workload and
excellent consumer service skills. On the other hand the main technical skills that I
require are excellent programming knowledge and also having advanced knowledge with
regards to the programming languages for instance C, C++, VB.NET, JAVA and etcetera.
It can be said having a career in the IT sector will be quite exciting and interesting for me
although it will be requiring a lot of knowledge as well as skills. The IT sector is quite
diversified in nature and the people like me who aspire to be in this sector must carry out
different tasks that an IT consultant career may develop into a number of various sectors
and industries.
