Question 1
Does your host company have in place a formal IT Governance framework? Some clues
as to its existence might be that there is a Corporate Governance or IT Governance
policy document; the corporate intranet might contain references to governance.
Structures may exist, at higher levels that are the decision-making bodies and which
control activities in the company for all levels through delegated authority.
IT governance framework is an ideal framework that helps in aligning the strategies
of a business with the IT policies and investment support. For any IT industry, it is essential
for the business to manage the information, transaction and the knowledge system that are
used in the strategy of the business (Al Hamed and Alenezi 2016). It supports the
fundamental objectives of a business and helps in its growth. It is not enough for IT business
to have an IT system and expect it to get controlled and managed automatically but for that
the organization need to have a definite IT governance framework. Implementing a proper IT
governance framework helps in reduci8ng the risks that are associated with the system and
also helps in managing its performance (Felix Rauschnabel and Hinsch 2017). There are
different types of IT governance framework that are used by many organisations. But with
respect to the mentioned company of MenuVu, it follows the Lean Six Sigma IT governance
framework in its business process. Implementing the lean six sigma IT governance
framework in its business, MenuVu helps in changing the overall culture of the organisation
resulting in the following features:
1. Helps in improving the capabilities of the business process in delivering products
in time.
2. Helps in reducing the non-value activities in its business process
3. Helps in enhancing the cross-functional activities and team based approaches
towards solving problems in the business.

4. Helps in empowering the employees of the organisation at all levels.
Also, there is a written IT government policy document that is followed in the
organisation. IT policy document are statements that outlines the business objectives that
needs to be achieved while defining the business objectives and intent in the policy. In the IT
government policy document created by the company of MenuVu, the date when it is
approved is reflected. It reflects all the expectations of the company clearly and briefly.
The company uses the augmented reality technology in order to make decision
regarding the choice of food that customers are demanding. The activities of the company are
widely controlled by this technology and also the higher levels of authority are not that well-
structured in order to process with decision making.
Question 2
Describe a situation in your internship, or previous work, where you have taken
account of an Australian Standard in fulfilling your ICT task, and why. If you have not
already experienced such situation, describe a situation in your internship where you
will need to take account of an Australian standard in fulfilling your ICT task, and why.
Be specific.
During my internship in this company I was working as the network engineer and I was
asked to maintain the Australian standards in order to fulfill the requirements of the ICT task
that are carried out in the company. The Australian standard of ICT has the following features
which needs to be followed while fulfilling any ICT task:
1. Establishing clear and understood responsibility for the ICT task
2. Planning the task for supporting the organisation.
3. Acquiring the validity of the ICT task
4. Ensuring that that ICT task is performing well

5. Ensuring that the ICT conforms with the formal rules
6. Ensuring that the ICT task respects all the human factors that are related with the
organization’s values.
The Australian standard helps in providing the framework for the Directors and helps
them in providing advices to the employees for managing the security, strategies of IT
finances and operations of the organisation.
Question 3
Describe a situation in your internship, or previous work, where you have taken
account of compliance (legislation) in fulfilling your ICT task, and why. If you have not
already experienced such situation, describe a situation in your internship where you
will need to take account of Australian legislation in fulfilling your ICT task, and why.
As I was working as the network engineer in the company of MenuVu, I was not given
any responsibility for maintaining the Australian legislature for fulfilling the ICT task of the
company (Badrick McCaughey and Georgiou 2017). However, if I would have worked as the
system engineer for the company, then I would have to follow the Australian legislature for
fulfilling the ICT task of the company (Suryawanshi and Narkhede 2014). All the
information that are created or used by the Australian Government agencies are subject to the
Act of 1983 and are managed according to values (Daly 2018). According to the Australian
legislation, there are some system functionality that needs to be managed within an ICT
organisation. The functionalities include-
1. Managing of transactional systems, management of cases and other business lines.
2. Managing the emails, spreadsheets and documents that are used in the organisation
3. Managing the finance systems of the organisation.
