INTRODUCTION
Project management is defined as application that consist of methods, processes,
knowledge, skills as well as experience that is used in order to attain aims and objectives of
project. There are final deliverables which have specific timescale. Managing of project includes
various processes like initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, etc. There is proper budget
assigned for completing the project activities and tasks. The following report is based upon case
study of “The Euro Centre” which has to be constructed in Docklands area of London. The
Hughes Communications Ltd. (HCL) is involved in installing, testing and commissioning IT and
communication infrastructure for “The New Euro Centre”. There are two tasks in the following
report which provides detailed information about the project of installing IT facilities in meeting
rooms and in a conference centre.
TASK 1
Provide explanation of key characteristics of project
Project management is an important task that is used for evaluating, initiating and
examining the project activities and tasks (Alnaggar, and Pitt, 2019). Some of the attributes
which are present within the project management are described below -
 This is created for managing the project work effectively and manage ease of project
activities. It is important to control project activities and tasks for framing the project
activities.
 The project work is temporary work and it consists of starting as well as managing the
predefined goals for conducting the project.
 There are various set of demands and needs that have to be delivered within specific
boundaries which are involved in completing the project work.
 This is rationale for managing purchase of life cycle which is present in a structured
manner.
 All the project activities must be completed within specified tome frame and in the given
budget.
Stakeholder analysis
Stakeholders play an important role within the management of projects. It is essential for
the project manager to work effectively and meet the targets of project in decided time frame.

Success of project is very important for stakeholders as they are directly related with profit of
company (COOK and MO, 2019). If the project is successful, all stakeholders will be benefited
or vice versa. There are different stakeholders for any project and their interest is managed
properly. The stakeholder analysis for present project is given below -

Purpose of PID and provide three key items
PID includes different components of project management that plays important role in
foundation of various projects. It consists of different data and information which is associated
with project deadline. The project manager is able to carry out various functions and activities
which are involved within competing the project (Halttula, Haapasalo, and Silvola, 2020). There
is need of various changes within project for working effectively and conducting successful
projects. There are following factors of PID which are mentioned below -

 Project scope statement – The present project of New Euro company is associated with
vision of project. Scope of the present project is that if new Euro company will have a
CCTV camera and new conference room, then it will be easy to enhance communication
among management and employees. Budget - It is related with the budget for all the financial and non financial activity
involved in project. It is very important for the project manager to focus upon budgets
and money for completing the project activities that can be completed in provided budget.
 Quality management method - It is focusing upon the managing of quality of project.
This consists of project initiation, evaluation and monitoring. It is very important to
manage the project activities and ensure that these are completed in specified time frame.
Illustrate the purpose of feasibility and specify the significance for decision making
This study is known as procedure which involves idea validation of project. It helps in
knowing whether project will be successful or not. This type of study is associated with
managing the project on various basis like economical, technical and project justification. It is
very important that project activities are completed in given deadline and these are associated
with five aspects including technical, economic, legal, operational and scheduling.
Explain knowledge areas related with project management
These include Project Scope Management, Integration Management, Time Management,
Cost Management, Quality Management, HRM, Communication Management, Risk
Management and Procurement Management. Project Quality Management: This provides help in achieving goals and objectives
properly and managing customer satisfaction.
 Project Procurement Management: This is related with purchasing of products as well
as items and accomplishing project in specified time.
Provide five attributes of project manager and value of closing project
There is huge importance of closing project and it helps in managing project activities to
accomplish the project activities. The five attributes of project manager are Inspiring shared
vision, Good communication, Competence , Ability to delegate activity and Integrity. This helps
in meeting the project targets in specified time.

Benefits of network diagram and specify two network diagram along with critical path
There are several benefits which are managed while completing the project in specified
time frame. By using the network diagram, some of the benefits which can be attained includes
planning, organization and control, illustrates workflow, identify opportunities, project progress,
etc. Aids within justification of time estimation: This explains different factors and ways
which are used for managing and associating the project related activities from starting to
end of project. The project manager of New Euro conference room ensures that there is
proper networking so that goals are achieved in given time frame.
 Shows interdependencies of activity: This assist to acknowledge which activity has to be
done after which in context of predecessors, successors, etc. There are different project
activities which are linked with each other and they are to be managed by project
manager in effective manner.

TASK 2
Overview of the project
In the present scenario, there is project which is based upon construction of new
infrastructure centre. This is named :The Euro Centre”. There is a proper plan needed for
managing all the project activities and tasks. A project manager has all responsibilities and roles
for managing the completion of all project activities in specified time frame. There is need for
completing all the project tasks and activities in specified time so that there is no problem faced
by the project manager at the time of executing plan.
The present project is based upon construction of The Euro Centre and this project is
assigned to the Hughes communications limited (HCL). There is budget of 20000 pounds for
completing all the project activities (Kaewunruen, and Lian, 2019). The tome period for

completing the research is 16 months and this deadline is made in order to complete the project
activities properly.
Project life cycle
The project life cycle is known as a process that includes various stages of completing the
project. It is very important for a project manager to analyse all the project cycle in order to
manage the completion of project activities properly. The project life cycle has important role
within project completion as this guides to use all the resources properly. The different stages of
project life cycle are mentioned below -
Initiation - It is defined as the stage of project management which is associated with a
document that includes need of project. The project manager has to identify what are the various
needs project management and how they will be accomplished. The project manager has to
evaluate and identify the objectives of project in order to complete it in proper time. In the
present scenario, project is related with construction of a new conference centre in London.
There is need of installing new IT devices that will be used for increasing communication. The
project initiation stage includes different aspects that are related with resources used for
completing the research, time period of project and estimated budget for project.
Other details which are included in the project initiation document includes analysing the
stakeholder analysis (Mohammed, 2019). Stakeholders play an important role while executing
any project. The stakeholders involved in this project are company owner, construction manager,
guests, etc. It is important for the project manager to prepare a detailed document that includes
information about project. The main aspects of this project initiation document is that it includes
time and cost for conducting all the project activities and tasks.
Planning - This is known as an important aspect of the project. The project manager has
to plan all the project activities properly so that accomplishment of project is possible. There are
different project members who are assigned work according to their skills and abilities. It is the
responsibility of project manager to properly plan the project activities and assign targets to the
team members. All the activities are planned in accordance with the time period of 16 months.
Project objectives – This is an important step of the project as it is helpful for achieving
the organisational targets in a particular time. Objectives are made in order to prepare plan for
completing the project. The project objectives are specific and clear. There is a proper time

specified for completing the project aims. The project aim for the present scenario are described
below -
 Installation of high quality equipments within different conference areas.
 Installation of CCTV cameras at a neutral location from where different activities
can be monitored
 Develop new technology services for booking and marketing
 Ensuring that high quality services are provided within the new conference hall
Timescale - This is a part of project life cycle that is associated with the time frame.
Every project has specific time period so that the project activities are accomplished in proper
time. Project manager analyses the time required to complete different activities of project, after
that estimated total time is provided. In the present scenario, estimated time is 16 months for
making the “New Euro Center”.
Budget – It is associated with the financial plan which includes details about money
required for completing the project. The project manager provides an estimated time frame in
which all activities of project are accomplished. In the present scenario, provided fund is 20000
pounds and project manager has to plan execution of all project activities in this money. Budget

From the above budget table, it is analysed that all the project activities for construction
of conference hall can cost approximately 152000 pounds. It is important for the project manager
to manage costs of project planning in order to know the estimated money incurred in
accomplishing the project. Manager who is having responsibility for completing the project has
to ensure that project budget is feasible for the company.
Approaches – These are known as the elements on which success of any project
depends. A suitable project approach is required for competing the project tasks and activities
effectively. A good project approach is needed for maintaining the completion of tasks and
activities properly . In context of the present scenario, the project is based upon constructing a
new conference hall that incudes new technologies of communication. In this new conference
hall, meetings will be conducted in a proper manner (Nachbagauer, and Schirl-Boeck, 2019).
The main aim of the project is to construct a new conference hall that includes all the new
technologies of communication.
Key staff - Any project is successful when there are plenty of team members who are
working effectively within the project. This is very essential for the employees to be skilled and
talented so that they will help in accomplishing project activities in less time. Some new
employees are hired who have specialisation in communication and network technology. Other
focus is upon people who are skilled in IT technology and this will help to accomplish the goals
in specified time. Staff and employees are hired for managing the completion of project activities
and tasks.
Execution - According to this phase of project, it is seen that project manager has to
execute the project activities properly for conducting the project activities.
Work break down structure – It is known as framework that is prepared for dividing whole
project into small chunks. This bifurcation of project is helpful as different tasks and activities
can be monitored and evaluated easily as compared to the whole project. In order to complete the
project, managers divide whole activity into smaller tasks such as networking, finance,

Control - It is concluded that at the time of project accomplishment, there is need to for
controlling the activities of project so that organisational goals can be achieved. The project
manger has responsibility for managing all the activities and monitoring them so that there are no
errors. It is important for the project manger to keep track of all project activities so that
accomplishment of project within specified time is possible. When the project manager has to
control all the activities, it is important that proper control is taken to manage the activities and
tasks. Risk analysis is helpful to control all the project activities. In context of present scenario,
it is concluded that project manager is able to control and monitor all project activities.
Risk assessment – This is an uncontrollable factor that is occurred while completing
projects. There are two type of risk within a project like financial and non financial. If there are
many risks in an project, then there are chances of project failure. It is important for a project
manager that they are completed without any risk. While completing project, it is important to
manage that there is low risk. There can be failure in project due to cost, inefficiency of workers,
less time, etc (Prantl, 2020). In context of New Euro company, it is seen that all constraints of
project are effectively managed and they are completed within given time frame. It is very
important for the project manager to manage various problems like involvement of stakeholder
and ineffectiveness of project workers in order to manage risk within project. There are some
preventions for risk which are adopted by project manager (Rowe, 2020). For avoiding risk, it is
important that all activities and tasks are managed properly.

Risk register is an effective method and technique used for avoiding risk within project. It
is important to manage and avoid risk while conducting the project activities. Risk register is
defined as database which is used for managing risk and controlling all project activities. This is
helpful in order to satisfy the regulatory needs and demands of the that will lead to manage risk
within projects. It is very important for managing projects in effective manner so that risk is

project manager to have proper deadlines of all the project work as it will be easy to complete all

estimated time. This creates problem for project manager and thus, it is essential to manage the
completion of project work effectively.
Conclusion
It is analysed from the above discussion that completion of project activities within
specified time frame is important. There is a proper deadline and cost estimated for completing
the project. The project manager has to work in effective manner to control and monitor all
project activities and tasks. There are various attributes present within project in order to manage
the completion of project. The project management consists of different details related to the
work and accomplishing the project within specified time frame. The project life cycle is
important for monitoring and controlling various tasks and activities. This will help in enhancing
efficiency of project work.
