Report
AI Summary
This report provides a comprehensive overview of IT infrastructure, as defined by ITIL. It delves into the various components that constitute IT infrastructure, including computer hardware, software (both application and system), data centers, networking and telecommunication equipment, and servers. The report also discusses the roles of technology services, facilities, and power in supporting IT infrastructure. Furthermore, it explores the concept of IT infrastructure management, highlighting the importance of real-time monitoring and the integration of various building blocks such as processes, applications, application platforms, and infrastructure. The report concludes with a brief summary of the key concepts discussed and references relevant literature on the topic.

2IT INFRASTRUCTURE
1. Introduction
The IT infrastructure is described in the ITIL as the mixture of a set of networks ,
software, facilities and hardware, all the equipment that are belongs to the information
technology, used for developing, testing, delivering, monitoring, controlling or supporting the
facilities of the IT. The related people, documentation and the procedures are not the part of
this IT infrastructure. In this report I have discussed about the concepts of ITR infrastructure.
ITIL have been the prime focus of my report.
2. Discussion
The infrastructure is common also dependable services which deliver basis for
enterprise IT portfolio. The management team of the IT infrastructure maintain technology
which supports daily operation such as internet, accessibility of data and email. This team
depends on the real time management also monitoring the solutions for maintaining the
productivity.

(Source: Morris 2016)
This IT infrastructure is created by the several resources of the IT. The description of
the numerous components of this IT infrastructure are as follows:
i) Computer hardware: It contains the technology for the computer processing, input,
output and the data storage.
ii) Computer software: It contains both the application software and the system software.
The application software relates compute to the exact task for any end user. On the other
hand, the system software accomplishes all the resources also the activities of any computer.
As per my knowledge the computer software have been acting as a bridge in between the
external user and the computing system.
iii) Data Centres: This is the main part of the network of any organization. It mainly consists
all the servers and utmost of the IT infrastructure. For this data centre, there is no necessity to
own this, sometime any organization take the advantage for reducing the cost and also
enhance their infrastructure in cloud. I feel the data centres have been the major prospect that
have been increasing the regular day to day efficiency of the working process with the help of
reduced cost in operational process. The data centres have also been providing higher
robustness as the security system that is provided reduces the chances of data breaching.
iv) Networking equipment: The equipment of network is used to join the servers also the
user devices like the laptops, computers, smartphones and tablets to each other also the
outside through internet. As per my knowledge, these equipment have been playing a major
role in completion of the framework.
v) Telecommunication equipment: It is a hardware used for transmitting the data also the
voice to and from any organization. This delivers the connectivity of data, video and voice to
the suppliers, employees and the customers.

vi) Services of technology: All the people are required to maintain also manage the
components of the infrastructure such as the legacy systems that are older systems of
transaction for processing which are made for the older computers and remain to use for
avoiding high cost to replace them.
vii) Servers: It is the computer which has software and hardware capabilities for enabling
many users for accessing also using the resources. Most general type is the file server which
delivers the users with the main store of the files. The directory server can provide the main
database of the accounts of the user which are used for accessing the server resources. Also
web servers, print servers, application servers and database servers are present.
viii) Facilities and power: The facilities ate used to the IT infrastructure in house like any
building which contains the data centre equipment of any organization. This data centre also
needs the electricity for giving the power to these servers, networking equipment and the
storage also cooling for ensuring that these equipment cannot be overheated.
Also the definition of the IT infrastructure is discussed based on the building blocks
of IT which consists many stages such as the Processes building block, the Applications
building block, the Application platform building block and the Infrastructure building
blocks.
3. Conclusion
I have discussed about different architectural proceedings that constitutes the entire
working process. This report ensures that a brief learning of the entire module have been
performed in a proper manner. Different components of an IT infrastructures have been the
main focus of this report. A brief understanding of the building blocks that acts useful is also
stated.
