2IT INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT
Introduction:
The MGM Wireless is one of the biggest organization in Australia which uses the
information technology for it business operations. The marketing style of the organization is
unique and the satisfaction of the organization is also great. Both of the marketing and the
satisfaction of the customer is managed through its business website which is the
www.mgmw.org.au. For a better management of the employees the organization provides
email services to each of the staff member of the organization. This organization is currently
having more than one campus at different locations and currently planning to open a new
operational branch at Sydney city centre. The organization is planning to design the new
branch in such a way that it will be capable of file sharing among all the branches. Also, this
branch must consists a wireless network communication so that all the business related
functionality runs very smooth.
In this report the network related solution for the MGM Wireless will be discussed
briefly and for that geographical scope of the network will be discussed. Also, a logical
design diagram will be presented on the basis of three hierarchical models which are access
layers, distributed and core. Following that IP addresses with the subnet mask will be
identified for the Sydney branch. The MGM Wireless is also wanting to adopt cloud
computing and the virtualization. So, here perfectly elaborate this factor on the organization
two organization that provides cloud services will be discussed. With that techniques of
service virtualization and demonstration will be provided on how the cloud computing
support the dynamic scaling factor.

for developing the IP addressing plan of the available rooms and for that data points are
needed. In this aspect the geographical scope of the network an explanation has been given
on the network devices that is used for the backbone of the network. Here in this proposal
also the logical design of the network has been provided.
Geographical Scope:
The provided network solution in this case is capable of help the MGM Wireless
organization improve their organizational services which includes marketing and the business
related operations. As per the analysis customer’s satisfaction can be improved by improving
the overall service and by extending the branch connection with the other branches of the
MGM Wireless. Also, the new network design must be designed in such a way that it can be
accessed wirelessly from any location and files can be transferred securely. Here the main
backbone of the network is the LAN as it connects all the users within a particular network.
The network does hold the properties of elimination of the risk and it also minimises the
overall disruption that are associated with the network framework development. In this
developed network the new branch in Sydney can communicate with the other branch using
the VPN services.

Here from the above diagram it can be stated that the above diagram is very much
optimised for the MGM Wireless. From the diagram it is clearly understood that all the four
floors are connected with each other using the routers. Thus all the floors can transmit data
among each other. The core layer is connected with all the four floor which helps to transmit
data among this floor. All of this data can be shared with the other branches of the MGM
Wireless through the main server.
IP Addressing with Subnet Mask:
In this context the IP addressing plan is developed by the analysis of each of the
rooms and the floor. In this aspect five types of network point is important to be available in
all of the room where the personal computers are needed for the staffs.

Application Server Hosting:
Organization for Cloud Service:
As the MGM Wireless is wanting to adopt the cloud computing and virtualization for
hosting the application server two organizations has been selected which provides the cloud
services for the web and email servers. Here the selected organizations are the DreamHost
and the Apache James.
DreamHost: As per the requirement of the organization DreamHost has been chosen in this
case as this is of the reliable web host organization which provides web hosting services
using the cloud computing services. The DreamHost provides various of professional services
which includes Inktank service which provides the support of open source Ceph file system
to the organisation (LLC 2011). Currently the MGM Wireless requires the network
virtualization which is also provided by the DreamHost. The DreamHost provides both the
file hosting and the application hosting which is required by the MGM Wireless. The
DreamHost provides VPS, shared and a dedicated type of hosting service and it consists
lighttpd, nginx and the Apache wwebs servers. Within the web host services this organization
also provides cloud storages and the computing services. The MGM Wireless also wants a
proper procedure for so that they can highly satisfy their customers. This requirement of the
MGM wireless can be supported by the Dream’s web hosting service. Web application
hosting services is also provided by the DreamHost organization (Miller 2013). For the web

organization provides the opportunity of upgrading the standards of the provided services
through fully managed hosting services. With that the DreamHost also provides cloud
computing services which provides scalable computing resources for the development
purposes. Also, DreamHost provides the service of virtual server using the KVM hypervisor.
Apache James: The Apache James is one of the important email server. Here for transferring
the mail the Apache James uses the POP3 and the open source SMTP mail server agent
(Shanahan and Dai 2017). With that the Apache James also provides the other emailing
protocols which includes the LMTP, IMAP and the JMAP. The Apache James utilises the
Apache Mailet API which actually helps the users write their own code for the mail handling
and this includes updating the database and building the message archive (Essertel et al.
2017). Here the Apache James utilises some prewritten mailets and the matchers for serving
some common type of tasks. This sets of the mailets and the matchers can be utilised by the
MGM Wireless for producing complex and sophisticated functional behaviour by combing
these sets. As the Apache James provides a full-fledged email server for exchanging data and
information among the employees this is very much important for the MGM Wireless for
transferring data remotely and wirelessly.
Techniques of Service Virtualization:
In the context of software engineering the service virtualization is considered as the
method of emulating the behaviour of some specific type of components within the
applications that are based on heterogeneous components which includes cloud based
application, API driven applications and some service oriented architectures. The service
virtualization is mainly used for development of the software and it provides access to the
testing team which are very much important for excursing the applications under test. This
service visualization is recognised by the industry analysts, vendors and the industry
publications which is actually different than the mocking process (Pentikousis et al. 2015).

Considering the cloud based platform the service virtualization also provides reduction of the
overall cost, high scalability and mechanism for disaster recovery. There are currently four
types of virtualization techniques which are the Application Virtualization, Network
Virtualization, Storage Virtualization and the Desktop Virtualization.
Application Virtualization: The application virtualization is also known as the process
virtualization. The application virtualization is achieved through some kind of software
processes which helps to encapsulates the testing program from the operating systems at the
time of execution of the software (Kumar and Charu 2015). Whenever a specific type of
application is virtualised it is not directly installed to the core operating system, but still this
application executes its processes within this system virtually. In this case for the full
application virtualization the layer of the virtualization is very much important (Huh and Seo
2016). The virtualization layer is very much important in the sense that it can be used as the
substitute of the runtime environment and this runtime environment is provided by the
operating system. The application virtualization can provide capability of intercepting the
disk operations regarding the application that are virtualised.
Network Virtualization: The network virtualization is very much important concept in
aspects of cloud computing. In this case the network virtualization can be demonstrated as the
combining process of the hardware and software resources (Liang and Yu 2015). With that
the network virtualization also provides the functionality of the networks which is actually an
administrative type of entity based on the software and this is also considered as the virtual
network. The network virtualization is also capable of providing virtualization regarding
platform and many cases this is combined with resource related virtualization. Considering
the network virtualization there are mainly two types of network virtualization which are the
external network virtualization and the internal network virtualization (Khan et al. 2016). The
external network virtualization is capable of combining many networks or some parts of
Considering the cloud based platform the service virtualization also provides reduction of the
overall cost, high scalability and mechanism for disaster recovery. There are currently four
types of virtualization techniques which are the Application Virtualization, Network
Virtualization, Storage Virtualization and the Desktop Virtualization.
