INTRODUCTION
Information technology is a process through which different systems are studied and used
in order to retrieve save and send information. With the increase in competition pressure has
raised on the IT department to make improvements in software’s so that the needs of users can
be fulfilled. The following report will talk about the changes that took place in Laptops as
continuous efforts has been taken in order to make them better than before (Cresswell and
Sheikh, 2013). It will have discussed that what advancement is done and how they are better than
those which were existing in past.
TASK
The crucial element which relates to device are mentioned below along with their
comparison with the smaller laptops.
USB Type -C: The physical size carries a direct impact on the number of ports which are
available in the device i.e. larger size means that there are more ports in the device as compared
to smaller ones. Each and every person like USB, because the omnipresent connector are charge
the laptops, phones, tablets and many other devices. USB Type-C ports can carry out effective
data and electricity over the single wire which allow the person to power up the different laptops.
All laptops have USB can charge off but they will capable for taking advantages of whole
ecosystem of standardised docks, monitors, adapters.
Higher resolution screens – In previous year, most of the laptops came with 1366 X 768
resolution screens, if an individual give good money for this. Large laptops screen is
competitively bigger in size but lack resolution and brightness which is well emphasized in the
notebooks which are available at present. Another is new laptop which can provide affordable
system with high resolution screen and system. It has many features which make it effective.
OLED Displays – In past year, laptops display is dull and lifeless. the company use
OLED displays which can provide 100% of the RGB colour gamut, making images on panel that
look better than in real life. At present, there are mainly two laptops along with OLED screen
options like Alienware 13 and ThinkPad X1 Yoga (Dao, Langella and Carbo, 2011).
Processors: it is referred to be brain of the computer which is known to be direct
indicator of performance of a device. The more powerful the processors better is performance of
the device. The major organisation who are known to be provide distinct choices in terms of
processors are Intel and AMD. Upon comparison it could be identified that smaller laptops

which are presently available have emerged to be more efficient. The processors which are
available presently are smaller in size and are more power efficient.
Designing and packaging: The larger laptops are designed keeping in mind the business
and working class segment where are smaller laptops are designed to keep in mind portability
and convenience of consumers. The reliability of the larger laptops are comparatively higher as
they are built on traditional platforms but when it comes to smaller laptops they are a result of
the experimentation (Subashini and Kavitha, 2011). They small laptops are designed to be more
sleek and handy so that regular tasks are carried out in the right manner.
CONCLUSION
Therefore it can be said that size of laptop does matter as they are different on numerous
grounds. It is essential to consider requirement of individual before actually considering size of
the device. The larger screen laptops consist of more number of ports, gaming GPU and 4K
display whereas such features will not be available in the smaller devices.
