Sainsbury plc trading as Sainsbury's is the second largest chain of supermarkets in the
United Kingdom, with a 16.0% share of the supermarket sector. This report highlights the role of
Information technology in retail industry organization. After that the report highlights the
different type of network technology in the organization. After that the report highlights the
different ethical and social issue of using different technology in the organization. After that
report highlights the difference between internet and intranet and different stages of system
development cycle of an organization.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Role of IT in retail industry
Retail industry is known as back born of most of the economy in current scenario. This
industry used to contribute very positively towards the development of economy. In recent time
Information technology has played a very crucial role in development of retail industry. Raluca

expanded design will be mad to identify the technical and functional requirements. Fourth stage
is Implementation and deployment, in this stage actual construction is taken place after identify
the requirements and specifications . Construction is done on the basis of design which was
earlier made and evaluate. In published paper Vale (2020) explain that fifth stage is System
testing and integration, after constructing actual design it will be evaluated. It is important to
